"Marcus? When can we go back home? It's starting to get real cold out here."
"We're almost done, we just have to check that snare you put out. Then we can go back, I promise."
"Alrighty. Hey, do you think we got enough? Lately we haven't been getting enough for everybody."
Grabbing the necklace at his chest, he returns the question with "That's why there's more than just us out here. Another two groups are out. We'll have enough... But Your snare was empty, I reset it. Let's start heading back, alright?"
"Alright."
With a sled of meat behind them, the two make their way back to their village, a small group of building's located on the Biron Snowfield, through the Mountains just north of Rito Village.
Upon returning, Liz spots something at the gate that got her attention.
"Hey Marcus.. This flower wasn't here before. What is it?"
"Liz, you know I don't know much on flowers. Besides, why would you ask me? Your mum knows plenty more than I do."
"Haha, that's true! I'll show her later, then."
Liz runs ahead, and Marcus, still dragging the sled, brings it into the Village.

Out of the corner of his eye he notices that the square is busier than normal. Thinking one of the hunting groups brought back a Moose or something, he leaves the meat to get prepared, and heads to his Cabin.
"Gods, it's been a long day.."
He's interrupted by three knocks on his door.
"Marcus, you in there? There's someone here to see you."
"Uh, yeah I am. Give me a moment Liz, alright?"
"Alright!"
He changes out of his hunting wear and into his Snowquill Set, a gift he got last year from the Village Elder.
He steps outside the cabin, tying his hair up at the same time.
"Alright, now where'd ya go.."
Liz jumps out from behind the post. "Boo!"
"Gods, Liz! Can you stop doing that? You get me every time."
"Yep, I know! That's why I do it, dummy!" She starts to laugh.
"Alright, who's here? You said they were here for me?"
"Oh yeah, follow me!"
Following Liz, Marcus wonders who it could be. He took into account that he's spent most his whole life here in the Village, so he wouldn't know many people outside the mountains.

The two of them stop by the Village gates, the same ones they walked through earlier. Standing there, a man dressed much like Marcus is wearing.
"Uhh, excuse me? You wanted to see me, sir? What could I do for you?"
"Well. For one, you've been taught manners, albeit not the best, though. Second.. Do you still have my necklace? I'd like to see it again."
He knew exactly who this was. "Pa? How'd you find me?"
"Wait, your telling me this old dude is your father? I'm lost, but Imma head back to the cabin, though. I'll talk soon!"
Liz hurries back to the Cabin, leaving Marcus and the Man to talk alone.
"She's a good girl, don't let nothing happen to her, ya hear?" The man says.
"I won't. But you never answered me. How'd you find me, and why show up after fourteen years?!"
"Calm down, Boy. Don't worry about that. How's your mother been?"
Shuddering, Marcus replies. "She died.. Two winters ago."
"I'm sorry. She was a wonderful woman, I wish I could've been there. I regret not."
Marcus looks at the sky. "Hey, it's getting late. Could we talk another time?"
"... Of course."
"Thanks, pa."
They both walk back into the Village, and Marcus enters his Cabin and lays down. Liz soon joins him on the other side of the Cabin. Sooner than he thought, she was asleep, and he soon followed.
