Mate

"An Ankh?"

"Yes, it looks like a sword, it is gold with a ruby in the center then you will have that history lesson with me this Saturday.  This will be good for your presentation."  She nodded.

Smiling, Seff was also grinning if I can see him grin but just maybe we will have a chance with her.  All I need now is that book.

I merrily skipped to lunch a wide grin plastered on my face.

"What's with the goofy look." Tucker stood in my presence. 

"I got a date."

"Ooh a date." He laughed " You don't do dates so really," he look at me like I was joking.

Crossing my arms I leaned against my lockers, "oh you're serious. Don't tell me you found your mate."

"No but I've given up. Actually it's with teacher Amy."

"Holy fuck.  She actually said yes." 

"It was easy after all who could say no to me."

"Cocky much."

It was a Friday and today I was going to search for that book. Strolling down to towards the school library I was smiling from ear to ear because one more day of our special date until I stepped out into the corridor which I now regret, I had just smelt the most amazing scent. It was raspberry and cinnamon.

Mate. Seff yipped.

Oh fuck, No no no. Just when I got the teacher...why now. The gods must hate me or something. Still I was attracted to that scent and had to follow it.

Turning around the corner I had seen a crowd of people yelling. Two of them, Hunter and his mate in the center of all that attraction along with a long hair beauty.

Mate. I growled my eyes darkening in the process.

Walking up through the crowd I growled at the sight. They're in the midst of all the chaos was Hunter who had yelled at my mate in fury.

Soon I found my self pushing my way through needing to save my mate from the horror of all this commotions.

Grabbing Hunter by his collar my eyes had darkened even more, my alpha radiating of my skin as he too had poured out his alpha side.

"Alpha Braydon." He snarled, "Let me go."

Now I would love to let him go but how dare he scare my mate. And all these wolves yelling at her. What did she ever do. "Why are you yelling at my mate?" I snapped letting him go.

"Your mate?" He shook his head in pity. Why does he look like he felt sorry for me.

A low breathing was heard from behind me, "Mate."  I heard my mate's sweet voice echoing in my ear. It was like music of which I could listen to.

Turning around I was met with that of a face, a beauty before me and its as if nothing else had mattered. I had a mate finally. A mate that I could call my own.

"Mate." I replied to her. "And what is the name of my sweet mate?"

She smiled and batted her eyes towards me, "Rachel, Rachel Morano."

"Rachel Morano?" I repeated. Why does that name sound so familiar?

"That's because she drugged me and had me torture my mate all for her pleasure so I had banish her. Why she is at this school is beyond me?" Hunter had answered my questions of which I didn't know I had asked.

Fucking shit. The rumors are true, I was dumbstruck, this is my mate. The mate that I have been waiting for, for so long.

I don't care what she did, she is our mate. Seff jumped in.

I don't exactly know what she did, I may have to ask Hunter but right now I couldn't bare to even look at her that is until she had touched my arm and I had melted at her touch.

"That was another time but I've change believe me I have." She sobbed.  "I have repented and the reason why I'm here is to apologize personally even though I know it could cost me my life."

As if my arm had a mind of its own, I had wrapped them around her petite frame pulling her closer to me, reveling in the mate's bond.

"Disperse." Hunter's voice boomed clearing the attraction we were now receiving.

"Alpha Braydon, may we have a word with you."

"No please don't leave me." My mate whined.

"What ever you say to me, you can say in front of her." I spoke coldly not wanting to part with my mate.

"Fine," Hunter started.

It been a good solid half hour while I continue to listen to him and how Rachel had drugged Hunter in order to claim herself as Luna and to have his mate Taylor tortured.

I can see now why Taylor is very timid. She has been through a lot. And the fact that my mate, this sweet angelic face is the root of their problems.

Letting her go, Rachel's eyes sadden, "Luna Taylor I am sorry what you have been through I do hope you will feel safe."

Hunter had smiled as I acknowledge his mate only for Taylor to smile as well, "Thank you Alpha Braydon, with Hunter around he has been very carrying and perceptive to my needs."

Glaring at Rachel though Seff had scolded me that I had to block him out, I watch Rachel cower at my eyes, "I am sorry Luna Taylor and Alpha Hunter for the things I have done. Please do not banish me from this school now that I have found my mate." She sounded sincere enough.

Hunter scoff, "I cannot separate wolves from their mate so it is up to Alpha Braydon here should he accept you. However you are not to step foot into my territory is that clear."

"Ye...yes." She stuttered before looking at me with pleading eyes wondering if I am going to reject her or not.

Seff however had other ideas and he wanted his mate. As for me, I felt disgusted by what she had done.

"On one condition."

"Yes anything, name it." She licked her lips and I ached to kiss them.

Focus Braydon. I scolded myself. "You are to be the best future Luna our pack deserves and do not tell anyone we are mates."  Until I know of her true intentions she can't be trusted.  From what Hunter had told me, in his eyes she is a selfish whore of a bitch.  Seff had inwardly growl at that insult.  And to make matter's worst I have to make sure that the wolves who over heard of me declaring a mate, they must be dealt with and to be kept silence.

Her eyes sparkled, "Of course." She jumped throwing herself onto me and not noticing we were now alone.

I couldn't help but wrapped my arms around her savoring this moment of her presence of her touch.

Yet in me, in the back of my mind it was like I am forgetting about something, more like someone.
