This is a tale of a being who stalked human prey during dark hours in a place called Mathers Lane.
Who drank their blood for youth and sometimes purely for pleasure.
Who sprung fear into the hearts of mortal men, where they wouldn't dare walk the lane he lurked.
Although, there were a few unfortunate fools who treaded Mathers Lane in the dead of night, the times he came out to play.
Not all of his victims turned up dead, usually they would be found knocked out down a shady alley.
Those survivors would always have identical bite marks on their neck
Eventually, the nocturnal one subsequently vanished.
No trace.
No remain.
Perhaps he had moved on, maybe the taste of the locals grew bland for him.
Or he was killed by a devout Christian with their trusty stake, and they never told the tale.
Either way, he was gone, and that was all that mattered to the locals.
He was never seen since.
