Off to school. The hell of the overworld.

The teachers suck

Most of the people suck

Including me.

Time to go off. Onto the yellow bus I go. Both my terror and my love. Bus ten. Climbing up the stairs. Into the first open seat, I sit, hoping nothing will draw attention. Hoping no one will sit with me. Hoping no one will talk to me. Hoping no one will notice me.

To school

I get off the bus, trying to manage not tripping over the legs in the isle. My foot gets caught on one and I fall. Once I stumble over, the legs then retreating back into the seat, with the owner of the leg laughing hysterically.

Off the bus, looking around the school front for my own friends. The cool air on my scrape from someone wearing cleats on the bus stings, like a bitter candy in the yard of death, stepping up on the porch to knock.

Inside

I start walking to the band room with Kyle and our friend, Jackie. We walk inside together. I go to my locker while Kyle goes to his. Jackie throws her flute in her locker and waits for Kyle and I. We start to walk to our classrooms.

Class starts

I walk into the classroom after going to my locker. I walk inside to see only a few students. "Dang it." I whisper to myself. I go to my seat to see that my friend Owen isn't in his seat. We got lucky to be sitting by each other. I sit down and wait for Owen. I wait and wait and eventually class starts. Owen never came to school, so I assumed he was sick, and now I need to present our project to fifty-something people. Have I mentioned I'm EXTREMELY socially awkward? I walk up to the front of the class and open my mouth to speak. Nothing comes out.

To be continued.
