Chapter 1 Big Mistakes

A/N - So I plan to try to put inspirational quotes or music or things to make you all laugh at the beginning of every chapter. Feel free to point out any typos or comment what else you might want to see!

                                                                         Chapter 1

 "I can't believe it's already our last first day of high school!" Lucille said.

"I know I'm so excited!" Daniell replied.

"Senior year will be hard though, a lot of homework, many teachers, and a lot of students trying to get as many credits as possible. There's a lot of tension in the air." Lucille said as they walked into the school.

"Oh no," Daniell said looking around, "Jakob is here."

"What? Where?" Lucille shouted looking excited and causing many heads to turn in the process. Daniell could tell that she liked him, maybe even loved him. This could end go really bad if she didn't play her cards right.

"Over there, the one with the black hair and green eyes. God Lucille," Danielle said exasperated, "He's right there wearing the gray shirt. Great, he's walking over here." Danielle said trying to pull her away from Jakob.

"Oh this is going to be a fun year," Lucille bounced enthusiastically as he walked over. When he got closer he began to grin and waved at the two of them.

"Hi Lucy, how was your summer?" asked Jakob before he kissed her cheek.

"Fine. How was yours?" answered Lucille before kissing him back.

"Great thanks for asking. So what did you do over summer?"

"The usual how about you, Jake?"

"Just the usual as well, I went swimming played some baseball and went on a family trip."

"That's awesome! How was your trip, did you have a lot of fun or was it really boring?"

"The trip was great thanks for asking." Jake laughed, "Hey, do you want to come to the water park with me and my family after school, Lucy?"

"Sure I would love to thanks for asking Jake."

"Hey what about me? I want to go too," said Danielle while recovering from her shock from seeing them act so comfortable and... couple like.

"Sorry, Danielle but we only have one more seat and I really want Lucy to go."

"Thanks for asking Jake it was really nice of you to do and I'm really looking forward to hanging out with you today. How about coming over about 1:30 and I'll be ready."

"Alright looking forward to it." He winked

"Hey Jake, do you think I should wear a bikini or one piece?"

"It's up to you, I would rather a bikini though," Jakob smirked.

"Ok. I will," said Lucille giggling and twirling her hair around her finger.

"Cool, I'm really excited, Lucy."

"I know Jake, I am too."

Hesitatingly Jakob looked at Lucille and before he lost his nerve he says, "Cool. I'll come to your house at 1:30. Uh, W-why don't we go for a walk and we'll talk some more about the car ride situation."

"Ok, let's go."

"When are you going to acknowledge me, Lucy?"

Turning to look at her childhood friend Lucille snapped at her saying, "Don't call me that Daniell."

"Then why does he get to call you that?" Danielle demanded.

"Because HE is my boyfriend and you're just my friend." Lucille retorted, frowning.

"He's... no... okay, but what does that matter? I mean you already have a boyfriend so there's nothing I can do except secretly like him while he is together and in love with you... my best friend."

"Not that it's a secret anymore but yeah I love him, why can't you just be happy for me. I mean Jakob's really nice and sweet and he really cares about me."

"Yeah well, don't you think that I really wanted me and him to have that or were you just too busy with Jakob to notice? I mean you have been ignoring me for the past month or so when I call you."

"Well I don't have any missed calls or texts from you are you sure that you ever even sent them to me? I mean I really don't have anything from you that could prove that so unless they're all on your phone it never happened Daniell."

"So what you're saying is, if I don't have the texts in my phone that as far as you know it never happened? Wow, that's messed up Lucille. Real messed up. But hey you want proof I'll give you proof here look at my phone..." As Danielle was scrolling through her phone she realized none of the texts or calls were there and started to panic, "Wait it's not... but I swear I just saw them..." Danielle sighed not knowing what else to do. "I have no idea what happened to them but I know that I sent them."

"Well if you can't prove the fact that it happened then it never happened. Sorry but you have no proof of that ever happening."

Jakob, with his hand on his neck, hung back unsure whether or not to intervene. Having made up his mind he says, "So... let's go on that walk, Lucy. I really need to talk to you anyway."

"OK Jake let's go I really need to talk to you too. Hey did you want to come to..." their voices faded as they walked away from Danielle.

As Danielle watched them walk away she wondered what she could do about the situation. She didn't want to lose her best friend but she also didn't want to see them together because it hurt too much. 

A/N - I know a lot of you are going to think that Lucille is being bitchy but there's some history between the two that will be revealed later in the story. :)
