"Simon. Come on. We're going to be late." Victoria says to me as we head to her date. Victoria is my best friend. We've been best friends since we were born. We were born in same hospital, same day, nearly same hour but I was born an hour and fifteen minutes before her.

She's a latina that is exactly 5 feet tall. Not an inch shorter. Not an inch taller. She has scares on her wrists from... Well you could probably guess. I always carry a roll of bandages on me just in case I ever see her hurt. She has bruises from her father all over her body but she doesn't ever show the pain. She is very petite from never eating. She doesn't purposefully not eat. She's just never hungry.

I am a 6 foot band kid who can't play worth a crap. That's why my band director put me on bass drum. I am super pale from all of the Irish background. I do not have the red hair though. I have light brown hair. I don't have cuts on my wrists but I do on my palms to keep people from noticing. Due to my genes I am the heaviest guy in school but you can't tell from looks. I look slightly scrawny but everyone is scared of my strength. Well everyone who's seen it. I try to keep to myself. We are both seniors at our highschool. I yet again am third wheeling one of Victoria's dates with a guy she barely knows.

"I can only drive so fast without getting pulled over and taking long to get there" I tell her.

"I know. Sorry. I'm just so excited. I think this is the guy." I've never seen her this excited but her being happy makes me happy.

As we pull into the movie theaters I see Jamie Knox. The worst guy I've ever met. He is 5'5" and scrawny but yet thinks he can beat anyone (even though I've proved him wrong before). He is somehow on the basketball team and rumor is that he sleeps with every cheerleader and girl he goes out with.

"I feel sorry for whoever is going to the movies with him. They don't know what's coming to them" I tell Victoria.

"Umm actually..."

"No. Don't tell me. Him?!"

"I know you two don't like each other but he is actually a good guy. You should get to know him."

"I did know him. Back when we were kids. Remember. We use to play tag together. Then he turned his back on us."

"He's changed Simon."

"If you say so... Do you need me to wrap you up before we go?"

"Please." She rolls up her sleeves to let me wrap her up.

Once I finish up we start heading to meet up with him.

"Hey Jamie" She says as she hugs him.

"Hey babe." He hugs her back and stares me down. "What's he doing here?"

"He's my best friend. You know that. I told you he was going to bring me. He's going to watch the movie with us too so he doesn't have to drive home then drive back to pick me up."

"Fine but I'm not paying for him."

"Of course not. I am to thank him for driving me."

As we go in the cashier asks, "What movie would you like to see?"

Before Victoria can say anything Jamie answers, "Two tickets for Pinch Me." Of all the choices he chooses a romance movie of course. He obviously doesn't know that her favorite movies are horror and with it being this close to Halloween they practically only show horror movies.

"Three" Victoria butts in.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah. Three. I forgot about the band nerd back there." She elbows him.

The cashier hands us our tickets and we start heading to the movie. Before we get there I say, "I'm gonna use the restroom first."

"Yeah me too." Jamie says
