Chapter 8 - First trial

I sat at breakfast. Draco to my right and Hermione to my left. While Hermione talked with Pansy, the two had become friends after being forced to share a room, Draco and I brainstormed what could possibly be the first task, there was only a week left. The mail came and everyone looked up to see if they had any mail to my surprise I did, the owl landed in front of me and I took the letter, I offered the owl food which it took. I flip the letter over and open it.

I know my family is filled with assholes, why do you think I moved to Romania? Anyway, I'm at Hogwarts now, I just found out you're competing in the Triwizard tournament and I need to warn you along with give you a few tips. The first task includes dragons, and some idiot chose four very overprotective mother dragons who are still in nesting. Come to the edge of the forbidden forest tonight by the Black lake.

Charlie Weasley

After I read it I handed it to Draco who also read it. We both shared a look that was both angry, scared and annoyed. I mean why nesting dragons?! Are they trying to get us killed, or worse?! Well probably actually, Dumbledore does seem to hate me now that I'm in Slytherin.

"We should start looking through books to try and see if we can find anything to help you," Draco says and I just nod my head. Neither Draco or Hermione tried getting me to eat anymore, sure I could still taste the food but, it really didn't do me any could. My energy comes from those that I possess, when linked to them I gain their energy, even then its really just an extra boost for me.

When night came I snuck out of the castle in my invisibility cloak. I got to the black lake and found Charlie waiting there. I walk up to him and pull the hood down. He grinned at me.

"Glad to see you could make it Harry, I just want you to know that there are Weasleys you can trust. Myself, Bill, Dad, and the twins," Charlie says and I smile at him.
"Come on I'll explain on the way to meet the dragons," he continues and I follow after him, putting my hood back on.

"You said you had some tips?" I ask quietly.

"Yeah I do but so that its fair for the others you will only get 3, you can share them if you so desire with the other champions:
1 - not only snakes speak parsletoung, dragons and many other reptiles do.
2 - like a hippogryph, dragons like to be shown respect, they are quite pridefull.
3 - never, and I mean never, use aggressive or potentially harmful magic infront of a nesting dragon," Charlie states and I silently nod even though he can't see me. Soon we make it to a clearing but I had heard the dtagons before we had even made it there.

"Wow..." I say and Charlie grins. He shows me around but the only thing he tells me is which is the most dangerous and which isn't.  After that I head back to the castle and tell Draco everything that Charlie had.

The next day I was pulled aside by the other three champions. I gave them a confused look but the just shushed me and dragged me off to an abandoned classroom. I raise an eyebrow at them wondering what the hell they were up to.

"Harry the three of us already agreed to this, but we were wondering if you would. You see none of us particularly want to die in this tournament, so we want to be able to share any informationon the tournament with the rest of us and also give pointers," Cedric says and I slowly nod.

"Though I do not know vhat you can contribute it is a good idea," Victor says and I raise an eyebrow. Cedric glared at him. No one knew this but Cedric and myself had been friends since first year, he knew of my little adventures, he was like an older brother to me.

"I doubt zhat you can give us anyzhing, I personally don't know zhy we are asking you," Fleur says and I glare at her and Victor.

"Then I guess you don't want to know what the first trial is considering that I know because I'm close eith Charlie and he told me," I say and Cedric's eyes widen and he gulps. Fleur and Victor look at me in shock that I knew the first task already.

"Charlie Weasley? The dragon tamer?" Cedric asks and I grimace but nod.

"The first trial is to retrieve something from a nesting dragon," I say and the three of them gulp at the idea.

"Most likely an egg zhen," Fleur says and I shrug.

"Um one thing Charlie did tell me was to show the dragons respect and do not attack it, there was another thing but only applies to me because I'm the only one out of us who speaks fluent parseltoung," I say and the two who didn't know about my ability to talk to snakes stared at me in shock.
