Time To Time

Just the Beginning

  I'm stuck in History and it feels like for eternity.It felt so long I slammed my head into the desk falling asleep. "Balistic,wake up,Balistic."

 I wake up with crumbs in my eyes, "K-Dog?"

My best friend is here to save me.K-Dog's real name is Kevin,we've been friends since preschool. His hair brown like chocolate,his eyes a purple I've never seen before,and I can't help but fall in love with him.

"Come on Sleeping Beauty.Want to go to Ruby's for some shakes or a banana split."I woke up in an instant to hear any sort of ice cream and he knows I love ice cream.

"Hella yes!"I jumped out of my chair and ran out the door,"Well aren't you coming?"

He laughs with guilt.

"Don't tell me you don't have money."

He swung his foot and nods his head.

"You idiot,how could you?!"I hit him with my book bag,"Let's go,I got some change."He looked surprised.

"Really,since when?"I lifted my book bag to tell him back off,"Alright,alright,let's go."

I ran out of the school as he followed,"Tomorrow,we should ditch school."I felt like it was freedom to be out of school.

"But we have a test tomorrow."

I gave him a serious look,"Fine we can do that tomorrow but only tomorrow."

We smiled together and I loved the way he looked at my forest green eyes.We headed in to Ruby's and there was a lot of negative feeling in the air.

"Man does it look gloomy in here,"K-Dog sat down at a booth and put in a quarter to play "Stand By Me"by The Drifters.It filled everyone with delight as they danced or sang to the song.

"Can we get a banana split?"K-Dog was ordering us the food.

"Also some tater tots?"I asked the lovely waitress.

"I thought you said you were a little broke?"I pulled a nickle and dime,"That's because I am."The waitress came back.

"On the house," she set down the banana split."But those tater tots are 10 cents."I handed her the dime in my pocket.

"How are we going to ditch school tomorrow if your broke?"I shrugged,"I have a plan don't worry."I took a bite of the banana split and dipped a tater tot into it as well.

"Gross."

"Try it,it's good."He dipped a tater tot in the ice cream and did it again."What did I tell you?"He nodded his head.

"I have been corrected."He said with a mouth full.We both laughed for no reason,I kept thinking,"Tell him.Tell him you like him."But I can't.

He had two quarters,when he said he had no money he didn't. He didn't have the money to pay for food but the money to pay for our entertainment.That was a deal when we were kids,I pay for food,he pays for entertainment.

I stare at him for a good moment thinking about what would happen if he said yes or if he said no.If he said yes,we would make out and have the greatest times of our life and not much would change.If he said no we would stay friends and try to forget I ever asked.

"Balistic,would you take this dance?"I take his hand as we dance to,"Save the Last Dance For Me,"by the Drifters.

His smile looked brighter than usual and sometimes I wonder if he feels the same way I do for him.We danced and everyone else joined even some of the employees.That day was the best of days I have ever had in 5 years.

I was bored at home and had the feeling to draw or sketch something out of the blue.I drew what I felt and I couldn't believe what I had drawn.

I couldn't let anyone see this,especially K-Dog!  I folded it and put it in my jacket pocket,grabbed my backpack and ran out the door.

I ran to the store and bought a chocolate bar,on my way out I saw K-Dog walking out of the guitar shop. He had been staring at a green and blue electric guitar.I had to save up my money to buy that,just for him.What's the special occasion,I don't know.But you know what they say,"You do crazy things for love."I had to catch up with K-Dog and hug him.Something in the world stopped in order for me to run.I run but see this strange figure.A hood of blood red and a rabbit mask unlike any other.

I try to follow but looked back at K-Dog and wondered about the future biting at my nails.

I get so close to K-Dog I trip into his arms."Sorry,want some chocolate?" He smiled even though I could see the sadness in his eyes.

"Yeah,sure thing,"he splits it between the two of us.

With it snowing ,the houses and roads filled with it,I felt so merry standing next to K-Dog.I pulled out my earmuffs,and put on some music.I was so close to holding his hand.Would it be awkward to hold his hand?I'm thinking to much,I just need to do it instead of thinking.I reach out my pinkie to touch his and in an instant he grabs my hand.

"Are you cold?Want to get some hot coco?"

I blushed and wondered if he could tell.It was getting close to night time,but I was up for some hot coco.

"Definitely,I have the spear time."We walked into Lola's Hot cocoa diner and I couldn't help but day dream as I looked deeply into his eyes.

"Is everything alright? You dozed of into space." 

K-Dog always knows how to get me out of day dreams or out of any troubles I may have.He's done everything he can to help me but I have always had one problem my whole entire life ever since I met him.I haven't been able to confess my love.

"Yeah I'm fine just thinking about a lot.I'm getting tired,think we can head home?" I was thinking about him and what his lips tasted like,cherry? No, I'm being weird,probably just need to take a nap.

As we strolled along the side walk, he stayed behind without me noticing,no wonder I felt so many chills.I felt an ice ball hit the back of my jacket.Is he seriously thinking about a snowball fight? It's on.

I neal down to make a good snowball, and turn around so quick he hits me in the chest and I hit him in the spot where the sun doesn't shine.I covered my mouth and bursted out laughing.He came at me like a football player and knocked me down into the soft snow.We both laughed as people slept in or who knows what other people did at midnight.This was New York after all.

I heard a sudden sound,"K-Dog,do birds come out at night?" I looked up at the sky and sat up.

"No,not occasionally,no,"he stood up and helped me up.

I sat down at the nearest bench and we were so close to getting home but everything....went...dark.

"K-Dog?Where am I?I feel so empty.I'm losing my train of thought."There's that figure again,I must find...out...who...he is.
