"yeah, sorry, i got a parley with a superior at 0900." carl replied.
kevin looked over at liam who just shock his head.
"i can do it. i don't have school." xan said.
"amazing! thank you so much. here's their diaper bag. who are you, again?" kevin asked her as he passed her the bag.
"this is xan, she's staying with us for a while. are you sure? i mean, that's really nice of you." lip asked her as she nodded.
"you're paying, right?" xan asked kevin.
"bless you, xanadu." kevin said before walking over to get the girls.
"you're good? sure?" lip asked her.
"yeah." xan replied.
"all right." lip said.
"remember you can call us if you have any trouble." i told her as she nodded.
"i gotta get going." carl said as he kissed emma on the cheek.
"yeah, me too." lip said.
"yeah, mel. i'm already late for school. take me?" liam asked.
"yeah, of course." i replied.
"there you go, bud." lip said giving liam his backpack.
"hey, xan. text us. yeah. " lip told her before we walked out the door.
"okay." she replied.
we went out into the car and we dropped off liam at school.
"hey, can we stop so i can grab a coffee?" emma asked.
"you got time?" i asked lip.
"yeah, my meeting only starts in 15 minutes." lip said as i nodded.
"hey get me one too." i said passing emma the money and she nodded.
"i'll be right back." emma said getting out of the car and walking over to the coffee shop.
"my heads killing me, i pray i'll get through the day alive." i said pressing and hand against my temple.
"you went out drinking last night?" lip asked me as i let out a sigh.
"oh, my god. i'm so sorry. i was just at the bar and mike was there and one thing lead to another and- i'm sorry." i said as lip turned to me with a small smile.
"it's okay, i get it. i'm not upset with you, babe." lip said as i placed my hand on his cheek.
"i love you, okay?" i told him.
"hey, hey. it's okay. i love you." lip said kissing me.
we pulled away when we heard emma come back into the car.
"here you go." emma said passing me my coffee.
"thanks. keep the change, em." i told her as she smiled.
"sweet." she replied.
i keep driving to where lip went for his meeting and i parked beside the door.
"have a nice day, babe." i told him as he kissed me.
"you too, i'll see you after work." he said as i nodded and gave him a smile.
