Sydney Emille wasn't a girl like anyone. Of course, she was similar in most of the characteristics but when it comes to boys...it was a big Nah Nah from her. In fact, she was the only 16-year old in her friend group not to have a boyfriend. Whenever she even thinks of the word, it lingers on her tongue like a brisk of bitter poison. But its effects tend to wear off whenerver she saw Matt Simons. The latter was tall, not much taller than herself maybe by a head or so; he had dark and overly long hair which descended onto his forehead like a sort of brittle veil. His eyebrows were thin and naturally upturned over his strangely pit-black eyes.

'Go talk to him, Amanda Willows whispered into the ears of Emilie during lunch break. Startled from her daydreaming, Emilie grinned shyly and pushed her food tray lightly across the tabletop of the cafeteria. The noise in the room was shitty as usual and Matt was leaning on one of his classmate's shoulders. His perfect teeth glittered in the room darkened by the massive curtains over the main window as he laughed at whatever jokes were being said and his uniform: full-on suit with a grey tie framed his broad athletic shoulders and tightened slightly towards the waist and polished shoes fitted him perfectly and shone as if was waxed no less than five minutes ago
'Maybe it is tailor-made', thought Emilie.
'Did you hear what I just said, girl?', said Amanda while gently poking her waist.
'Yeah..what? I'm sorry, was thinking about my costume for the weekend', replied Emilie.
'Of course...yeah..totally', laughed Amanda.
Emilie rolled up her eyes and picked her tray en route to the depository. She walked quickly and made her way amidst the maze of individuals milling around with their respective trays while the bell sounded. One last look she glanced at her idyllic male portrayal before escaping the overly packed cafeteria.
