I knew what I needed to do. It's not like they didn't deserve it, not after what they did. "I'll be there tonight." Faint mumbling came from the other voice on the phone along with some static "217 maple drive." Silence then a beep as they hung up. I kept asking myself if I was doing the right thing but even if I wasn't it didn't matter I had to do what needed to be done.

Pulling the chair out from under our table and feeling the cold cushion as my mother continued to explain to my sister why she was right. "You don't understand sweets it's not that you can't do it we just can't afford to get you what you need to continue your research!" My sister Ellie stumbled around the corner making her way to sit across from me, "mom. I've told you a million times I just need a few thousand and you have it in your savings why can't you just loan it to me??? after I find a cure I'll be rich and you can have all the money you want!"
Mom sighed and sat next to her placing a hand on her shoulder, with a serious tone she replied "I'm sorry but I can't we need that to pay off your medical bills" the house went silent... nobody spoke about the incident since it happened. Ellie was 8 when she was diagnosed with cancer, she's strong and they caught it early enough to fight it off but the bills were extreme and we don't have insurance so we were sentenced to a life of worrying about money. The worst part is she's been showing symptoms again and well she thinks she's found a cure or close to one as she says... but like my mom said we don't have the money to let her do it and none of the science industries are wanting to help her. "A naive girl" they say. I just wish someone believed in her...
Ahh so idk if I'll make more bc i just don't know lol
