You could feel a returning grin creep up onto your lips; you felt it was too good to be true. That's when he turned and began to pace the room again, "Nyet, I'm leaving..." He said to you after a moment of peppy silence. Your heart sunk, was he really leaving you again? 'Da' was the answer to your first question. You could feel tears prick your eyes as you analyzed the situation.

You watched him as he gave a long side glance to you through his gleaming purple eyes, yet you were oblivious to his lies. You did take notice of the cracks that showed for only moments, he now had them patched up. That's when you growled slightly, "It isn't fair!" The three word statement was blurted out from behind your teeth, the tone you gave was something completely different from what you intended. You were swirling with emotions, unable to find one that suited your needs you began to sob, "Do you even love me?! All you do is work..." Ivan stopped pacing and froze his body stiff. Waiting a few moments he turned to face you, through your clouded vision you thought words were going to spill out of the man's mouth. Yet nothing did. Laika found it a good time to jump from your lap, when she landed on the floor she trotted over to the kitchen. Immediately she started to lick up the food that spilled. You cupped your face with your own hands, "You ask me that all the time Ivan Braginsky. Yet I've never asked you once! But right now I'm really questioning it."

The Russian's eyes softened immediately yet his other features did not change under the pressure. "YA lyublyu tebya [name]." He said through a soft yet choppy voice. Why did his accent suddenly sound different? He walked over to the couch and sat beside you, giving a tiny giggle he kissed your cheek. "We're engaged for reasons, yes?" He took a hand and gingerly wiped the tears away, sniffling you leaned up against him. Lightly putting an arm around you he nuzzled your head with his prominent nose. He could hear your soft dog like whimpers that laced your breaths, "Shhhhhs, you'll be okay, da... What you need is some sleep [name]." His voice was stern and you immediately shook your head in protest.

Parting your lips you said one word through a shaky huff of air, "Nyet." You continued to lean against the Russian as your eyelids began to grow heavy. Opening your mouth again you spoke, "I need to clean the floor and... And..." You almost began to cry again. The hormones were getting to you, "... I'm hungry and cold! But most of all I don't want you to leave!" You wailed clinging to him, you nuzzled your face into his chest to receive warmth in exchange, Ivan jumped slightly at your action. "I-I don't want you to go... Something bad will happen to you! I can feel it, I'm not crazy!" It was true you had that gut feeling about something but you didn't know what.

Ivan continued to hug your shaking and frail body, "Nyet, I'll be fine. Right now you need some rest, da." He picked you up and began to carry you to the room you two shared. "I won't have to leave until another hour." He whispered to you sweetly. You began to sob again as you clung to his shirt not wanting to let go. He sighed softly and peeled you off him; he sat you on the bed. Pulling back the covers he began to get you ready to go to sleep.

Balling your hands into fists you began to rub your eyes like a child; he gave a side glance to you as he worked. It was a couple minutes before he stood up straight and walked over to stand in front of you, "Da, lay down." He ordered. You obeyed and crawled up to the head of the bed and pulled yourself under the covers.

Licking your lips to make speaking a little easier you made a soft sigh, "You'll lay with me, right?" You could tell by the look in his eyes that he was going to say that one special word. Although, now that he said it, it still seemed misplaced or misused. There was still something wrong with it.
