And always involving me.

"So, how are you and Kris?" Autum put her evil grin on.

"God! I dont like Kris! Just because we both happen to like some of the same things, doesn't mean ANYTHING!" I opened my lunch bag somewhat angrily and dove into my sandwhich. Hanna and Autum exchanged glances, wondering if I was actually angry.

"So how are you and Joshua?" I asked Autum. She grinned stupidly.

"Technically, we are not a "we" yet, but good anyway," Autum said.

"Oh my gawd. Just date him already," Hanna said as Kris started to walk towards us. My face turned bright red. My life was so embarassing.

"You guys, seriously. Contain yourselves. He is JUST a friend," I said in a quiet voice.

"Hey Kris," Hanna said slyly.

"Hi guys!" Kris smiled. He took a seat right beside me. Autum and Hanna laughed uncontrollably, of course. I found something very interesting on my sandwich and looked down at it.

"So..." Autum looked at Kris and then back at me, an expectant look was on her face.

"So?" I said in an even voice. We sat there in a somewhat awkward silence.

"I need to do math," I commented, buising myself with schoolwork. I heard them chatter and chuckle softly.

"Alright, I better go," Kris said after a moment, "My class is kinda far and the bell will ring soon."

"Come sit with us on Monday, Kris!" Hanna shouted after him.

"Thanks guys," I said, the sarcasm was thick in my voice. They didn't ever pick up on it.

"You're welcome!" Hanna said gleefully. We finished up quickly and left the now almost empty cafeteria. The bell rang overhead and our trio was separated. I walked to English, Hanna to German and Autum to Drama. I slid into my seat just at the tardy bell rang. We talked about sentence structure and other things that I zoned out on. I ended the day with math. It didn't exactly put me in a great mood. Geometry never did. I walked alone to Autum's locker, our unanounced meeting place after school, and was met by Hanna as I got there.

"Hey guys!" I sounded deflated and exhausted. I was.

"Hi," Hanna chirped. Autum nodded her head. She is 5-foot-11 and has dirty blonde hair that she usually kept down. She got on her knees to open her bottom locker. I felt bad for the girl. She had a top locker Freshman year, she got the worst of luck. Karma worked its magic in strange yet funny ways. I was stuck with a bottom locker as well, but I am only 5-foot-4, maybe 5-foot-5 at most. Jake was about as tall as I was. The bad thing about Autum was she could sort of read my mind.

"You thinking about Jake?" a devilish grin was slowly spreading on her pretty face.

"No," I said a little too quickly. Dang. I had blown my cover. It was only a little crush, but nothing is little to Autum. I was going to regret this moment for the rest of my life.

"You totally like him!" Autum squealed in delight.

"What the hell! I don't! God!" I unzipped my backpack and fumbled around in the pockets for my phone. They were so annoying sometimes, but you had to love 'em.

"Sorry guys. I'm not in a good mood after Geomerty," I apologized.

"It's ok. I proably have a mental breakdown if I had Ms. Kane again," Hanna nodded in agreement. She had her a year before Autum and I did. She felt our pain.

"Kyra, truthfully, do you like him? Honestly," Autum looked deep into my eyes. I stared at my true crush, Alex. I was lost in this daydream. I never wanted it to end..

"Who?" I asked in a confused voice.

"Jake!" Hanna exclaimed.

"What? No!" I said, trying to cover for myself. I could have said Alex's name. Phew.

"BS," Autum stated.

"I am being legitamate right now."

"Liar."

I pouted. I hated arguing with her. She always won.

"Fine. Believe what you want to believe. I'm going to say nothing more," I said matter-of-factly.

"You are eventually going to give me details. You will explode if you can't exhaust your feelings. I know. I'm a girl," Autum replied.

"You're a girl? Since when?" I joked playfully. She gasped dramatically and hit me on the shoulder.

"Hmp!" She hit hard. Hanna walked over to Brandon, her current and hopefully long-lasting boyfriend.

"Hi," she smiled and hugged him.

"Hey there, good-lookin'," he kissed the top of her head. She smiled again and buried her head in his chest.

"I might," I said in a dreamy voice, "I just might."

They gave each other worried looks.

"Are you ok? Do we need to call your ride?" Hanna asked.

"What?" I snapped out of it.

"Kyra, you just comfirmed it! You like him!" Hanna and Autum practically jumped up and down
