The fair is a beautiful place sometimes, with all the pretty lights and the music, the food and the sounds of everyone having fun. But Gavin couldn't really concentrate on that right now, catching a final glimpse of the sunset as he sat down at the small table, draped with a pink cloth, that his brother help set up. Elijah gently tied a blindfold around his brother's eyes, smiling a little as he put up the sign that read "$1 For a Kiss".

Gavin knew this was a damn horrible idea. It was terrifying, but somehow his older brother convinced him, saying that maybe he'd actually find a lover tonight.

Gavin doubted it.

He was the loner in school- scars, a shitty attitude, and bullied. The only feature about himself that he actually liked was that bad ass scar across the bridge of his nose. Made him look tough.

With the blindfold on, his other senses were heightened. He could hear every single step that paused in front of the stall before moving away, or the little giggles and whispers from the popular girls as they passed by. He could hear every time Elijah let out a half disappointed, half pitying sigh.

Gavin shrank back in his seat, face burning. This was mortifying. Of course nobody wanted to kiss him, what even made him think they would? Gavin looked down, gripping his legs as more people giggled about him.

In the small crowd, pity was tugging at Connor's heartstrings. He barely knew the boy apart from what his brother had told him, and he frowned. "Hank, can you get Nines for me?"

Hank raised an eyebrow, chewing on a corn dog. "Why?" He asked gruffly and Connor looked up at him with those damn puppy dog eyes. Hank grumbled, finishing his food and pouting. Connor didn't have to say a word, Hank eventually walking towards the car park, cursing those damn puppy dog eyes.

Nines was in the car, scrolling on his phone and listening to music, jumping when Hank hit the window. "Connor wants you, c'mon."

"Why?" Nines asked, setting his phone down. Hank shrugged and Nines groaned. He got out, smoothing down his turtleneck and following Hank closely as they headed back into the crowd. Nines hated crowds.

Once Nines saw what was going on his heart clenched. Gavin looked so humiliated, and people were laughing at him.

He glanced down when Connor shoved a five into his hand, shoving him towards the stage. "Go!" Connor hissed. "I know you like him, you coward. He's all you ever talk about."

Nines bit his lip, everyone quieting down when he started walking closer. Was Nines really going to kiss Gavin Reed? Nines was the school's star quarterback, and so many girls have hit on him. He was tall, mysterious, and fuck he was really going to kiss Gavin? He was- Nines slapped the five dollars onto the table, glancing down at Gavin, whose tears were soaking the blindfold.

Elijah looked at him in surprise. "This'll get you five," he pointed out, and Gavin looked confused. Nines bit his lip, pulling the boy to his feet.

"I have more money."

With that, he gently cupped Gavin's face, brushing his thumb across a small scar above his lip before giving him a soft kiss- he could feel more tears, and the blindfold was being pulled off.

Nines pulled away slightly when Gavin threw the cloth to the ground. The boy's eyes were wet and puffy, his bottom lip trembling. But he couldn't stop his heart from hammering when he saw who was kissing him. The hottest guy in school, what the /fuck/.

Nines wiped away the tears, a small smile on his face. "That was only one, I wanna get my money's worth," he murmured, letting out a little yelp of surprise as Gavin practically leapt at him, legs wrapped around Nines' waist as he pressed his lips back to Nines'. The quarterback chuckled and kept his hands under Gavin's ass to support him, a few people cheering and clapping.

"You're so beautiful..." Nines breathed out against Gavin's lips, moving up a bit to kiss that scar on his nose. Gavin was at a loss for words. He was gripping Nines tightly, so afraid that this was all some twisted joke. But Connor was crying and taking way too many pictures on his phone and Hank was whistling dramatically.

The crowd had drained away rather quickly, Nines setting Gavin on the table and gently pressing kisses all over his face. "Would you be interested in going to a movie or something on Friday?" He asked, a little grin on his face. Gavin sniffled and nodded, blushing. He probably looked like a damn mess.

"Hey, you should come over tonight! We're having tacos!" Connor suddenly yelled, stumbling over. After Connor graduated he had moved in with Hank, but his mom was having a family dinner night. Gavin would fit right in.

Nines gave Connor a glare. Their mom would probably be way too excited that Nines had a partner, but he kinda did want to just stay with Gavin tonight. "That might be a good idea, if you want," Nines murmured, Gavin nodding again. He wiped his eyes with his sleeve, holding onto Nines. "Yeah, that... That sounds nice."

Nines smiled softly, petting Gavin. He'd finally gotten with his crush that he's had for God knows how long. "C'mon, we should get you put of here." He said, scooping Gavin up. The boy nuzzled his broad chest. "You're warm, Nines.."

"I know," Nines murmured, chuckling. "It's been pointed out to me." He glanced at Hank. "Do you mind driving? I still have a couple kisses that I paid for." He grinned.

Hank grunted. "Better not gonna be making out back there or you're walkin'." He mumbled, heading to the car with Connor hot on his heels. Nines only chuckled and followed as Gavin tried to calm himself. He was officially with Nines. This was crazy.

Of course, what Hank didn't know wouldn't hurt him, and after sliding shut the little divider in Hank's cop car (what they had driven there in) Nines immediately pulled Gavin onto his lap to kiss him again.

Gavin was blushing, holding onto Nines while they kissed. He's never been kissed like this before. It was gentle, but firm at the same time, so deep but Gavin was reluctant to pull away for air.

But eventually he did, licking his lips a little and peeking into Nines' blue eyes. They were pretty. "C'mere..." Nines held Gavin by the back of his neck and pulled him closer for more kisses.

I think its fair to say it was the best night of both their lives.
