Life. You're either dead or you're alive, there's no in between. We have been preconditioned to believe that no one lives forever. Yet so many people are seduced by the tantalizing concept of immortality. To live forevermore as others around you age, and inevitably meet their own demise.

You see, almost everyone would rather live forever than die, but it just isn't possible.. Or is it?

For I am cursed with the tragic, yet attractive, ordeal of living forever.

How? Well let's just keep that a mystery for now. My name is Clara Scott, and I have been 18 for nearly 200 years. I am something unheard of, unworldly, a Reaper. What's so special about a Reaper? We are basically like Gods, we can never die, we can't ever age, we have superhuman strength, agility, and speed. We have special gifts, and abilities, or powers if you will. We can do basically anything, be anything we want. Every Reaper is different, but we are very rare. We have a council made up of the original members to uphold "Reaper Law", but I assimilated myself back into mortal culture. I had no intention of being involved with the Reaper clan. My only friend, Veronica, however did.

Anyways, tomorrow is to be my "first" day of high school. Now, you're probably wondering why I'm subjecting myself to this kind of torture. Well, I've been enrolling myself in High schools for over the past 70 years or so, just because I often get bored. Also, to see how the world is changing so I can adapt rather than be "outdated" sort of speak. I needed to blend in with the rest of the population, and keep up with the times. So I'll be graciously blessing York High School with my appearance this year. I was actually excited, I might even socialize this time.

I was in the midst of unpacking my belongings in my one bedroom apartment when I heard the doorbell ring. It had just turned 10 pm, and I started to wonder who could be at my door this late at night. I mean the neighborhood seemed pretty dead around this time anyways. I had an internal debate if I should answer or just wait for them to leave because I was pretty tired. My curiosity got the better of me.

"H..hi, my name is Freya and I've just come by to see if you're all settled in. I'm your neighbor, 8B," she gestured to the apartment behind her, "so if you ever need anything, I'm right across the hall." She smiled cutely.

Freya was absolutely gorgeous. I could tell that she was probably into women just by her stutter when she had first seen me. After 2 centuries, your "gaydar" is very accurate. That or I might have a big head.

"Freya, a very unique and beautiful name" she blushed "my name is Clara, and thank you, I've settled in just fine. But I will take you up on your offer if I ever do find myself in need of your assistance." I gave her a polite smile.

"Wow.. I love your accent" she said seemingly entranced.

I forgot to mention that I was born and raised in London for most of my life. Well, my human life.

"Thank you." she snapped out of her trance and smiled. "I hope you do." She tilted her head to the side, leaning in a little to study my eyes. "You have the prettiest eyes I've ever seen.. Are those your real eyelashes?"

I don't intend to brag but I got these types of compliments all the time. Coming from her though, it made me feel something tingly inside. No, not my libido.

"They are, see?" I closed my eyes so that she could see I didn't have any false eyelashes on. "Thank you again, Freya." I smiled wholeheartedly.

I really couldn't take my eyes off of her, she was so gorgeous. And it seemed that she couldn't take her eyes off of me either. I think she started to get nervous. We broke eye contact, and she glanced at the clock inside of my place then back to me.
