I was heading out to the forest. Being out in this tree-filled place with loud chirping birds makes me happy and feel at peace. This place was like a second home to me and I loved it; everyone knows I'm a nature lover, animals and plants were better than people in my opinion.
I stepped out of my car and popped the trunk open. I slammed my door shut and locked the car as I made my way to the trunk. I dug out my tackle box, chair, fishing pole, and live bait; then I managed to close the trunk while holding most of this stuff. I proceeded to head down to the lake for some fishing today. The sun was just about to come up and the fish were already biting.
I found a spot and plopped my stuff on the ground. I quickly set up my things so I wouldn't miss the small window of catching something. I put the bobber on and made sure the sinker was on good on the fishing line. Once that was good to go, I stepped back and cast my line out. I sat in my chair and waited for something to bite.
As time passes, I managed to catch a few fish and I had released them back since they weren't big enough to eat. Eventually, I just decided to pack up my things since the sun was out now. I grabbed my things and walked back to the car. I popped the trunk open and put everything back. I closed the trunk and wandered off to the concession stand for something to snack on.
I approached this old worn down shack that had an 'open' sign lit up. This was Wally's concession stand. He was a sweet old man who ran this little shack with his wife for fun during the summers.
I walked up to the ordering window and read the menu. I think I'll have a bottle of water and maybe one of Wally's homemade pretzels.
"Hey there (Name)!" Wally's voice greeted me at the window. He was bending down a bit so he could see me. I waved at him as I smiled.
"Hey Wally, let me have a bottle of water and one of those delicious homemade pretzels of yours please." Wally nodded his head as he turned back to the kitchen inside, he grabbed the pretzel and water bottle, he turned back to me. I grab my money from my wallet and hand it to him but he refused.
"It's on the house today (Name)." Wally smiled at me as I took the pretzel and water from him.
"Thank you so much, Wally! Say hi to your wife for me!" I waved as I walked away, sitting at a picnic table eating the delicious pretzel. I began to space out as I watched the trees sway in the wind, it was all just so peaceful. I took a couple of sips from my water and threw the trash away.
Carrying my water bottle and finishing it up, I threw it in the next nearby trashcan. Since it's nice out and I have my sneakers on, I headed for a trail in the forest to hike for a bit. A little exercise never hurt anyone.
I noticed that the sun was at it's highest peak as I went deeper in the forest. Along the way, I saw a few snakes slither by and a few squirrels jumping about. I could still hear a few birds chirping. As I kept walking, I noticed that the lighting in the forest was getting darker.
"That's weird, it's not that late and there are no clouds... at least I think that's the case." I thought to myself as I stopped for a moment.
I kept walking and it felt like as if everyone stopped. I couldn't hear any more birds. I didn't see any squirrels jumping around and I didn't see any snakes slither off somewhere. It was all quiet and still around me. I was the only one moving at this moment.
I stopped again and looked around. I felt like I was being watched. As I was looking around, I didn't see anything or anyone who could be watching me. It's not that very often that I come across other hikers here in these woods. I was about to turn around and head back when I started hearing loud, rushing footsteps coming right at me. I booked it, heading further into the forest.
I ran as fast as I could, still, I could hear the footsteps behind me. I glanced behind me and saw no one running after me, I was confused.
"Then who's chasing me?!" I thought as I kept running.
All of a sudden, I felt my head come in contact with something hard. I was knocked to the group. My vision was blurry and I was going in and out of consciousness from the thumping pain in my head. I could barely make out a strange person who dropped a good-sized stone, all I saw was white and black on their face. Blinking more, I saw another person run up to this white and black faced person. They had bright yellow on. As I laid there, not able to process what was going on, I finally noticed the strange wet feeling on my head, I managed to pull my hand up to my head even though it felt too heavy. I touched the wet spot on my head and I winced in pain; looking at my hand, I was bleeding. I looked back at the two people - taking note that they were wearing masks - and the rock; finally becoming less disoriented, I could see the blood splattered on the rock and on the person with the white and black mask. I could hear two men's voices, it sounded like they were bickering over me.
I was going to get up when I saw the white and black masked person grab that rock and put a hand on my shoulder. I felt another blow being made and this time I was in darkness, I was now unconscious.

I came to in a cold dark place. My head was killing me. I slowly sat up, holding my head in my hands.
"Damn... my head is killing me." I thought as I used the wall behind me to steady myself with. "Wait... where am I?"
I looked around slowly. I was somewhere with barely any light and no windows. My head was hurting and I could smell myself. How long had I been here?
I managed to get up but I couldn't go far as I was stopped by a chain to my ankle. I tried pulling on it, hoping that maybe I could break but there was no budge. I became more frantic as I realized what happened, someone had kidnapped and I was being held hostage. I began screaming at the top of my lungs, hoping that someone would here me.
"Help! Somebody help me! Please, anybody!" I screamed over and over, hope slowly slipping until I heard a door creak open. I stopped and backed myself up the wall. Loud footsteps were coming; I began to shake, afraid of what may happen next.
Coming into the dim light, I saw it was the two men from before. They kept their distance from me. The one with the bright yellow jacket held some food in his hands while the other one held a bat over his shoulder. I slid down the wall, cowarding from the sight of the bat.
The next thing I knew, I had a bat pointed at my face with the guy barking at me, "Quit your screaming or else I'll have to bash your skull in!"
I nodded my head as I gulped. I couldn't process why this was happening to me, why I was in here. The guy with the bat turned around, whispering something to the other one who only nodded at what was being said, then he walked away. The other guy slowly came close to me, as if he was afraid of me. He held out his hands with the food in them, motioning for me to take them. I quickly grabbed the food, shoving in my mouth; I didn't realize I was this hungry. The guy seemed startled at my sudden lunge for food and backed up a bit, which was fine by me.
"You should try to be quieter to make it easier on yourself." He said quietly. I stopped shoving the food in my mouth and finished what I already had in my mouth.
"Why?! Where am I?! Who are you people?! Why are you doing this to me?!" I cried out, dropping the food in the process. I needed answers, I needed to escape.
"I... I can't answer those." And with that, he left, leaving with me in the dark. I sat where I was, now crying. What was going to happen to me?
