In Lavanya's bedroom
"This is the day, finally!", Lavanya says as she squints her eyes to switch off her alarm. The results of her checkpoint exams were out,she quickly got up her bed, fixed it and rushed to the bathroom to brush her teeth and have a quick shower.
"Lavanya, beta(dear in hindi). Are you ready?" asked her father from down stairs.
"Yes,coming!" she shouted in reply,taking her laptop from her study table, messy as usual, opened her room's door and sprinted down the stairs.
Downstairs in the dining room
"Good morning Papa, did you sleep well last night?"she asked with excitement.
"Good morning?" Mr. Roy replied with a faint smile. "Well? I have never slept better."
"I didn't, I couldn't" she said, yawning. "My checkpoint results are out, sorry dad, I have to check them before eating or else my breakfast will be incomplete."
She places her laptop on the dining table and opens the lid, connects to the home wifi system and searches.
"Aaaa!" she exclaimed, "I'm the first one in the whole country dad, I did it dad! I did it!"
Her father congratulated her and gave her a tight hug, they both gazed at Lavanya's mother's photo, the late Ms. Kate Barlow who; after marriage became Mrs. Kate Sharma.
THE SURPRISE
"Lavanya," her father said in a sad tone, "I am thinking of sending you to India to complete your IGCSE years there. There is a friend of mine who lives in Indore and his son also studies in the school I want to send you to, the school's name is Harten International School and I checked everything, it is just perfect."
"So, you want me to study in India? and where will i live?" she asked.
"It's a boarding school and their son, Akshay, also lives there. You can go to their house during the holidays and I will pay a visit whenever I can. well, of course, this will only happen if you agree with it."
"Yes. of course I want to go and study in India. I've been waiting my whole life to go there and I ain't gonna loose the opportunity." Lavanya exclaimed with this surge of excitement. "So let me know the plan as you please."
He tells her his plan and her excitement doubles
