Bing!
My head barely flinched from my computer screen. This was far to important to be interrupted, this match was the deciding factor or who won, me or a buddy of mine. However out of curiosity my eyes flickered to the time in the lower left corner. 12.05am. Couldn't be that important at a time like this everyone is asleep. Well besides me of course. "Ah aha! You lost again buddy" I laughed into the headset. Another win, of course. My eyes then glanced back to the time; 8am. I swear a moment ago it was midnight. Yes I finally decided to log off, i said goodbye to everyone and congratulated the other team on a good game; a gracious winner.
I glanced around before spinning my chair to face my bed, i had completely forgotten about the message i got earlier. I picked it up, my phone, flipping it over to see a snapchat message. Her? How could I explain her?
The girl that has come in and out of my life every few months since i was in high school. I didn't know her... Well at least not in person she was a girl my age i met on some random online chatting website, honestly it was so long ago i don't even think i can remember what its called by now. Although I'm so grateful for it because i met her there. She's that friend that it doesn't matter how long the time between chatting no matter what subject I always feel comfortable with. We spoke on many a platform. First it was that online website; that proceeded to Steam, that proceeded to Snapchat and then i gave her my number somewhere in there. I'm pretty sure she had my number? Yeah, because she once called me on the way home from work, and i was more than glad to do it, it was late and quite frankly i wouldn't feel good letting her walk home alone. Long story short, she's the best friend I've never met.
I stood up kicking my chair away back to it's rightful placed and slumped onto my bed, laying flat holding my phone above in my vision I clicked on the notification and saw the message. It was true i had looked at her story she'd noticed, i let out a hard breath through my nose and replied that i'd been spotted, she also asked me how i am in her own way. I said that I was doing great which could have been an exaggeration but i was alright. I stared at my phone for a moment but who was I kidding she would't be awake at this time. So i set my phone back to my side table and closed my eyes. I didn't know how long the conversation would go as I said in and out. Of course she would reply because that's just the type of person she is. Couldn't guarantee i would be awake. There's no lying, i missed her; I always did when our conversations ended, but that is just how life goes. Most of it was my awful memory with responding but I did my best to remember.
As the minuets passed I slowly lost consciousness, I knew I wouldn't sleep long but 6 hours would be good enough.
Ella.
I pressed send. My heart beating fast; just as it did every time i sent him a message, only because we hadn't spoken in a while. I just wanted to chat again that's all I wanted was to speak. I loved every conversation we had. He was the one i could turn to when i was down, where nothing i said was awkward or too much. so even though i was nervous i still sent it; i knew i wouldn't get a reply. One day i will meet him. Him, My best friend that I've never met.
