"Do you have any idea what's up there?"
"Scientists say that it's just and big black empty void."
"But if that's true, what's in that void. We don't have the technology to explore that void. Even if we did, we dont have the money to send someone up there in the first place."
"Then use your imagination, what do you think is up there."
"God, that's the only thing I can think of."
"God is not real, science proves it."
"You cant make that conjecture. There's no prove thats he not there."
"So are you, there's no prove that his is there also. As far as we know, the bible can be fake. When you look at the chronicle, there's nothing that says he's alive but also dead. God is nether."
"Shut up."
It was almost school time and me and my little sister was enjoying the last week. We can hear the factory slowly settling and getting ready for a harsh winter, probably destroying the interior even more than it already is. To giant holes in the roof, all the way down to the chemical air that's all around us. Next year it might be gone, but its still home to us.
"Mom properly worried about us. Its past nine." my sister says as she sits up. Her what to be wasit low hair is now just barely reaching the bottom of her ear lobes. The pink tips complements her brown hair perfectly. I can see the stars in her glasses. She's still staring with aw at the night sky. Her brown eyes widen when something flies by.
"Well stop looking at the stars and start climbing."
"It's dark, lets take our time. Last thing mom wants is for one of us to fall and break our neck." She looks at me once she said that last part. Im very clumsy at everything I do.
"Sooooo..... I can't break my arm to get out of PE when school starts?"
"Do you what mom to treat you like a baby again?"
"No."
"Then don't."
"Be careful."
"When am I never."
As she start descending into the blackness know as the abandoned factory, I take one last look at the night sky.
"You coming or what. I'm already on the second floor."
"Coming"
I look into the deadly hole and take a deep breath. I place my right foot on this old and rusty metal beam. CREAK. I quickly take my foot of the beam. I tried once again..... Nothing. I take another deep breath. I carefully place my right arm on the beam. Still no noise. My hand grasps the edge of the beam. Quickly, I lift my left leg and arm so i'm in the position to slide down the beam. I take another deep breath, and slide down. Once I reached the bottom of the beam, I let go of the beam and place myself on the railing. Making sure there wasn't any holes where I was just about to step, I was finally able to place myself on the second floor.
"That wasn't so hard"
"Did you not hear the creak, I was positive that beam was going to break on me."
"But it didn't. You got down hear and you didn't die."
"What, no trophy?"
From hear it was a breeze. We just had to find the stairs and climb down them. Miranda instead climbed down a wall with no problem at all. I chose the stairs.
"You know, those stairs might be gone next year."
"You say that every year."
We chuckle at the thought of concrete stairs gone next year and started the two mile walk home.
