Found

Kate raised her gun as she walked slowly through the hallway.  She had gotten a lead to LocSat which had brought her to this remodeled cabin.  The only lights were a few lamps lighting the hallway.  A door stood closed at the end of the hallway and she made her way towards it, her heart pounding.  Reaching out she turned the doorknob, gun still held out in front of her.  Opening the door she braced for the worst.  Her heart falling seeing the staircase leading to the attic. 
"NYPD come to the top of the stairs with your hands up." 
"PLEASE" she heard a woman pleed from the top of the stairs.
Moving up the stairs slowly Kate held her breathe nervously.  Reaching the top she saw a woman chained to the wall.  Her heart fell. 
"Mom?" She said under her breath in utter disbelief. 
"Katie, what are you doing here?" Johanna asked. 
"I... shhh,  someone's here." Kate said, listening to the movement downstairs. 
"You can't be here, he'll kill you." Johanna whispered. 
Looking around Kate found a dark corner behind the stairs to sit and watch.  She could tell her mother was nervous.  God. Her mom.  She was really here.  The door downstairs swung open and Kate froze hearing the heavy footfall on the steps as he got closer. 
"I brought you some dinner" a raspy voice said as he threw down a microwavable meal. 
"I'm not hungry." Johanna replied looking down at the dinner.  Kate saw his hand come down grabbing her mom's hair.  She was behind him in an instant and knocked him out with the butt of her gun.  Pinning her knee on his back she brought his hands behind his back and handcuffed them there. Pulling out her phone she cursed seeing there was no reception. 
"Looks like we're on our own for right now." She sighed standing up again.  "Do you know where they keep the key?"
"No, I've never even seen this one since they put this on me." Johanna replied. 
Digging into her pocket she pulled out her lock picks and knelt down to unlock her from the chair around her ankle.
"How did you find me?" Johanna asked. 
"A case I had been working on, your case actually." Kate said glancing at her mom. 
"Your a cop?"
Kate nodded turning back to the lock.  "Got it."
Slipping the lock off she took the chain freeing her mom's ankle. Her flesh raw where the metal had rubber her skin.  "Oh my God mom" Kate inhaled. 
"Its fine, just please get me out of here." Johanna replied standing up quickly.  Kate got up looking down at the man on the floor.  Walking over she rolled him onto the back to get a better look at him.  She recognized the face but couldn't place where she knew him from. 
"Let's go, I'll call for back up when we get outside." Kate said helping her mom down the stairs. 
Once outside Kate pulled out her phone again, calling Esposito. 
"Yo Beckett, what's up?" He asked
"I need back-up.  I went to that house I told you about."
"What were you thinking?"
"Obviously whatever I was thinking paid off.  I just cracked this case open."
"Say no more Chica, Ryan and I will be there as soon as we can."
"Bring an ambulance too."
"Are you okay?" He asked, she could tell he was worried.
"Yeah, but I found a kidnap victim, she'll need to get checked out." Kate said glancing at Johanna.
"Woah, okay.  I'm on my way just hold tight." Esposito replied, she thanked him before hanging up.  Reaching the car Johanna fell to her knees.
"Are you okay?" Kate asked kneeling down.  She could hear her mother's sobs through her hands and laid her hand on her back gently.  "They can't hurt you anymore mom." Kate whispered. 
"No? What about Bracken and Simmons?" Johanna asked.
"They're both dead." Kate replied. 
"When?"
"A few years ago.  Simmons was killed first then Bracken was murdered in prison."
Johanna let out a relieved sob.  Reaching out she laid a shaking hand on Kate's cheek.  
"I never thought I would see you again." Johanna said through tears.  Laying her hand on her mom's she smiled softly. 
"Neither did I, I missed you." Kate said quietly. 
"You've grown up so much."
"Mom what happened?" Kate asked. 
"Please not now."
