THOUGHT I WOULD WRITE A CUTE FLUFFY FANFIC FOR YOONGI BECAUSE I CAN LOL HE IS MY EVERYTHING
When people tell you to have fun while it lasts, they really mean it. Four years went by in a flash, even if it felt like an eternity. With high school long gone and college in the palm of your hand, you look back on the four years of extra hell you had subjected yourself to. It really wasn't all that bad; you had the grades and the guy yelling out random beats to Boom Chicka Boom in a drunken stupor in the dead of night while the two of you laid in an empty field.
"Yoongi," you tried calling once, lazily turning your head to face the milky complexion of the other who didn't seem like he was going to stop any time soon. "Yoongi!"Sighing, your best friend had stopped yelling, turning his own head so his dark eyes could meet yours. "Yes my sweet sugar plum?," he mocked, making you grimace at the awkward nickname he had thought of on the spot.
"We graduate in two weeks," you deadpanned, turning away from his piercing stare to face the stars.
"We sure do my little beanie bag of chocolate cookies," he purred, sitting up to take another swig of the vile alcohol he had brought with him even if the two of you had downed way too many shots just a few hours ago.
Ignoring the fact that Yoongi was just trying to get you to lash out at him like you usually do from his terrible nicknames, you just sat up beside him, taking the bottle from his lips only to plant yours on the rim to take your own gulp. Feeling the dull burn in your throat, you relished in the feeling just a bit longer, not knowing when the next time you could drink until you pass you would be.
"We're going to have to actually be a functioning part of society in two weeks," you blanched, the first wave of realization hitting you like a brick.
"You got that right my cute little forest fire-"
"Okay seriously Yoongs either shut up or I'll shut you up," you threatened, not afraid of the other's intimidating aura.
Throwing you a soft smile, Yoongi just fell back down, back meeting the grass in a soft thud. Staring up at the stars, you could see the reflection of them twinkle in his eyes, the fatigue and stress caused by school seemed to have disappeared, replaced by serene features.
Patting the space next to him, you laid back down next to him, too drunk to really know where the two of you were or how you got here from Jinhyun's party. The gentle breeze of spring mixed with the soft grass that has grown over the season from the dead of winter; the perfect night to be sentimental and drunk. Although it was a little cold, the warmth Yoongi exuded was enough for both of you. It was always enough for the both of you.
Just as the exhaustion and alcohol was starting to drag your eyes down, the man beside you started his drunk rambling, but this time it was different. Knowing this would be one of the last times, you listened to him talk. You listened to his voice, his breathing; you took in everything Min Yoongi was because you knew this would be the beginning of the end.
"What if we never see each other again?," he started, making you roll your eyes.
"Yoongi the probability of you never seeing me is nearly impossible to calculate. You know why? Because it's not gonna happen," your voice lazy but certain as you simply closed your eyes even if you knew you weren't sleeping any time soon.
"What if I end up dead in a ditch? What if I never get a job? What if something goes wrong and I can't graduate? What if-"
-I never stop loving you?
The question died on Yoongi's tongue knowing the two of you where nowhere near the right state of mind to digest such a question. But, you threw his silence to the wind, not dwelling on the possibility of such a deep inner conflict.
