"Evangeline Black." a mysterious voice called from somewhere beyond the black wall. "Y..yes?" I stuttered, unsure if I should trust the man. "You have been sent here on a mission. To change the course of history, to save innocents. This is where you truly belong, Ms. Black. Your adoptive parents will not know you are missing. They will not even know you existed. They will not hurt. Please, lives depend on you.
I woke with a start, my neck drenched in sweat. 'What was that about?' I mumbled, sitting up and running a hand through my tangled hair. I got out of bed, picking out a navy blue sweater and black jeans for the day. Changing quickly, I flew down the stairs and made myself some toast. Or, attempted to rather, until I got to the kitchen to find a tall man, quite oddly dressed, sitting at my table.
He was wearing silver robes, with a good rope around the waist. His beard was long enough to tuck into the belt, and his hair longer. He was wearing half moon glasses, and his blue eyes sparkled behind them.
"Hello, Evangeline. I am Albus Dumbledore. I ask that you come with me, we have oh so much to discuss."

"So, to clarify, I'm a witch. You, Albus Dumbledore, from the book series Harry Potter, want me to come back in time to 1965, and change how the war ends? Did I get that all right?" I asked, my mind buzzing. 20 minutes ago, all that was on my mind was what kind of jam I was going to put on my toast. Now I had to save an entire fictional world from its own fate? This was insane. "Evangeline, this is crucial. You could save so many innocent lives, help us to win this war with less death, less destruction and grief. You must, however, refrain from telling people what you know. If a person knows too much about their own fate, it won't end well. You must keep this a secret. Your cover will be that your parents died in a death eater attack on a muggle residence, and you were the only survivor. Do you understand?" Dumbledore explained. I nodded once, too stunned to speak. A witch. I was a witch. And I would be attending Hogwarts and befriending Harry Potter. This was going to be insane.
