Chapter 23

Several months later 

After touring several different countries all over the world for a few months, the Mind of Mine tour finally came to an end. During the time period, Zayn along with the artists he invited on tour to be his opening acts gained way more fans from the experience, every single show was sold out and they all went well.

Although the tour had just ended, Zayn couldn't wait to have the opportunity of going on tour again to perform and meet more fans, however he was extremely tired right now from all the hard work he had put into touring so he needed to take a break 

When the final show of the Mind of Mine tour was over, Zayn and Lauren took a plane, heading back to new York 

"So what do you want to do when we get back to New York?" Zayn asked with his arm around Lauren's shoulder 

"I dunno, all I know is, right now I just want to sleep" Lauren shut her eyes, leaning her head against zayn's shoulder causing him to let out a chuckle

A few days later

When the celebrity couple was finally back in new York, they both agreed on starting off their vacation by having a date on the beach at night

While the two sat around the table awaiting the arrival of their food, Zayn occupied himself by admiring the green eyed beauty before him

"You look incredible tonight babe" Zayn complimented reaching across the table taking Lauren's hand in his causing Lauren to blush 

"Thank you babe" Lauren responsed 

Suddenly, the waiter arrived resting the palm of his hand beneath a tray of food walking over to the table zayn and Lauren were currently sitting around lowering his hand to place the tray on top of it 

"Thank you" Zayn said in gratitude looking up at the waiter 

"You're welcome Mr Malik, enjoy your food Mr Malik and Miss Jauregui" The waiter said, his eyes adverting from Zayn to Lauren 

"Thank you" Zayn and Lauren said in unison with a small smile on both their faces 

With that, the waiter walked away leaving the couple sitting around the table before the displayed food 

Several minutes later

After Zayn and Lauren were finished having dinner with each other, the two decided to take a long walk down the beach hand in hand watching the water waves as they made their way down the shore 

While the couple walked, Zayn mentally prepared himself for what he was about to do, he was ready to take a big step in his relationship with Lauren 

"Let's stop here" Zayn said abruptly, causing Lauren to also stop in her tracks, letting her hand go in the process 

Lauren stood before Zayn in worry when she took a closer look, realizing he was currently taking deep breaths 

"Babe, are you okay?" Lauren asked in worry, slightly raising her eyebrows 

"Yeah... Yeah I'm fine..." Zayn breathed out, he stood before Lauren in nervousness due to what his next move was going to be, once he eventually mustered up he reached into his pocket pulling out a mini box, Lauren's eyes went wide at the sight since she knew exactly what her lover's intentions were 

In no time Zayn lowered himself to kneel on one knee on the soft sand after opening the mini jewelry box revealing a wedding ring 

"When I left the band you were the only one who respected my decision and supported me along the way, throughout everything. The moment we started texting and getting to know each after I sent you that one dm thanking you for being supportive of me, I knew you were special. Sending that dm was the greatest decision I've ever made because now I have the best girlfriend a man could ever ask for, I cherish every single moment we've spent together and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so I have one important question to ask, Lauren Michelle Jauregui will you marry me?" Zayn asked holding the opened mini jewelry box, containing a wedding ring inside 

Zayn's speech, question and actions caused tears to well up in Lauren's eyes, meanwhile she was busy thinking of her answer Zayn watched her intently looking up at her with a smile on his face in anticipation of what her answer would be, suddenly Lauren spoke up breaking the silence 

"Yes! Yes Zayn! I will marry you" Lauren smiled widely in happiness, tears now streaming down her face, Zayn immediately took her hand and slipped the ring on the fourth finger of her left hand then raised himself off the sand, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist, reaching down in order to lift her in the air off the sand, Zayn was now twirling both himself and Lauren around

Zayn pressed his lips against Lauren's as he stopped twirling himself around and lowered her, letting her stand on her feet again. The fact that he could taste her tears while kissing her lips didn't matter to him, all that mattered in this moment was that the love of his life accepted his proposal
