She jumps up from the reoccurring nightmare that haunts her at night. She is sweaty and hot. She steps lightly out of her bed, trying not to make a sound. She knows her parents are awake, they always are, but she hates the creaky sound the floor makes.
She throws on the clothes she planned the night before, that were sitting on her dresser. She grabs her phone and checks the time. 7:30. She still had time before school. She sighs, putting her phone in the pocket of her rolled up, dark blue jeans. She pulled on a jacket over her tight fit white shirt. The sun is barely up, and she has some time to waste. She checks the website for the school. It seemed like a good one, after some consideration she decided she might like it.
In what seemed like two seconds, it was already time to start getting ready for school. She walks out of her one story house, walking down the sidewalk rather slow. Once she arrived at the school, she got a map. She glanced over it once and stuffed it in her pocket. Her memory was pretty good. She roamed the hallways a bit, just checking hallways for which locker is hers.
While pulling out her map, she runs into a tree. An actually living tree. She looks up.
"S-sorry." She mumbles and tries to get away, but before she could even step, the tree shoved her into the lockers to the right of her. She gasps for air, before falling down in defeat.
"Watch where your going next time, short stack." And that's the thing she dreaded the most. Nicknames. They stick with you all throughout high school. She looks down, she is about to do something she might regret. She pulls herself up, looking up and at the tree in his...beautiful blue eyes. She balls her fists, throwing them at the large person.
He grabs her fists and laughs. He bends down to her height, staring into her orangey brown eyes.
"Don't test me short stack."
