" I have to get away " , thought. I ran down the corridor and turned right and then left , my eyes blinded by tears. " how could he do this to me ? " , I thought to myself . I stopped to take in my surroundings , I had absolutely no idea where I was . It looked like an auditorium , with a large stage in the front and row upon row of reclining blue armchairs . large black boxes which I made out to be speakers , were in every corner . I saw a door with the sign 'exit 'written across it in bold letters . Slowly ,I made my way towards it and with a push , a ray of sunlight flashed across the smooth wooden floor . I could smell the fresh air and the warm breeze dried the tears on my cheeks .
I still didn't understand why James could bring me to an unfamiliar place to break up with me .What was he thinking ? I mean , I knew that he had a lot going on at the moment , but how was breaking up with me going to solve his problems ? Was there something that he wasn't telling me ?
I dwelled on this thought a little longer and then decided to put it at the back of my mind. Out of the corner of my eye , I noticed a sewage van parked on the right hand side of the road where i was standing . Being used to the city life , I knew that wherever there was a sewage van there was a drain , and wherever there was a drain there was a main road . I carefully crossed the road and walked onwards , as soon as I reached the end of it , I turned right . I continued doing this about four or five times , until I reached a bus stop . At the bus terminal , I bought a ticket to Brooklyn . The cashier told me that the bus would only arrive in the next hour , so I picked up a map from the pile on her desk and sat down on the nearest bench to study it .
According to the map , Dunkin Donuts was just around the corner . At the thought of food , my stomach started to growl . I realised that I had not eaten the whole morning . I was starving . There was about $10 left in my purse which I was positive would be enough to feed both my caffeine addiction and my growling stomach . Looking forward to the walk , I crossed the road once again and made my way around the corner and through the doors of the busy franchise called Dunkin Donuts .
I ordered two large Lattes and two cinnamon donuts . the cashier charged me $5 dollars , so i decided to order an Expresso as well . With $3 left in pocket , my stomach full and my caffeine addiction satisfied , I joyously strolled back to the bus terminal .
Upper North was a beautiful city . its cobbled stone walkways and high walled buildings looked like it belonged in Rome . As i walked through an alleyway , i saw cherryblossom petals blowing in the wind . They looked so soft , so delicate , so carefree... The thought of the cherryblossoms saddened me , looking for a distraction , i checked my watch .It was almost half past two , i still had about an half an hour to make it to the bus terminal .
I realised that i had reached the end of the road . I decided to turn left and walked on . As i walked , my mind drifted back to the day i met James . I smiled at this memory ....
It was the 12th Of December . I was standing outside the school with my friend Bella . We were planning to catch a music the Friday evening . James came to say bye to her and saw me . H whispered something in her ear and she told him my name was Annastasia . He tried to flirt with me , but i made sure to kill the vibe instantly.
Two weeks later we started dating . he was the sweetest , most amazing guy ever , but he had lot's of personal issues. His mom and dad were divorced and his mom abandoned him when he was just two years old . Although he had a battered childhood , he never let that get in the way of doing what he believed was right.
I turned right when i reached the end of the road.I saw the garbage van standing in the busy intersection and knew that the bus terminal was just across the road. After the traffic came to a stop, i quickly crossed the road and walked back to the bench where i previously stopped.
Ten minutes later , the bus arrived and i got on board . The ride back to Brooklyn was much longer than I expected and I soon found my mind wandering back to James ...
