Insanity

Chapter 1

Reica's P.O.V

Most of the people said that I'm too innocent. My kindness can kill me someday.

Geez, I know that for time being. But this is my nature! It's what I am! I... I can't just stand and do nothing when I know someone is being abused and  hurt.

"I know I'm saying this a million times. But are you really sure about this, Rei? You will not just face crazy people but these people lost all their sanity! Aren't you afraid of that?" Grace said as she tapped my desks. I just give her the same expression I'm giving every time we talked about this.

"Gae, I know what I'm doing, besides I've already think about it over and over. Stop bringing this up, my answer will always be the same." I said in bored tone. I flipped the pages on my book and lazely look at her.

"Oh come on! You can be more than that! This is the last day that I can make you change your plans, I really wish, please Reica Fernandez!" She said in desperate tone.

I rolled my eyes at her and spin my chair so that I can face her.

"Look, Gae, I know you are worried, I am too-"

"Lies."

"Just listen to me... I know you are worried so I am but this is the path I want to walk through I choose to. I want to help those people, if someone abandoned them who will save them? They are also human. They need someone who will understand them. 

Her eyes widened just a second after she look away from me.
Fear, Guilt and Pity. I can see it in her face right now.

At first, Pity was the first thing I feel towards those people. Most of them were abandoned by their own family, being traumatized in incidents they experienced and forgetten as if they didn't live in this world.

" Please trust me with this, Grace. I know what I will face and i'm ready to face all of it." I said as I hold her hand. A heavy sighed escape from her lips and look at me intently.

"I surrender. Just please, please please please! contact me every time! Only true words, no lies!," said Grace. She points at me while saying those words. Emphasising the word 'please'. Iimmediately nod and bring my hand above my eyebrow, saluting at her.

"Yes, ma'am," I said between my giggles.

All of my family members are Engineer and Architect, but somehow I'm the only one who changes path. I'm graduating as a psychology in our campus.
My father told me I should be a lawyer if I'm so desperate to help people but being a lawyer will just give me a headache. And not mostly but some of the  cases are only being held by money. It's not that I'm criticizing Law but these days it was now way of some lawyers to gain money and glory.

But I've decided to take psychologist. And this is the reason why she's acting like this.

We are both startled when my phone suddenly rang. I looked at the screen before answering it.

"Yes, professor?" I ask as soon as I put the gadget  beside my ears.

"We have receive just now about the contract in Keendrain Asylum, since you top the final exam... I'm informing you this immediately. You can come to my office if want to reply to them." A monotoned man said on the other side of the line.

My eyes widened as I heard the 'Keendrain Asylum'.

"Y-yes,... O-of course sir!" I reply, almost jumping at my seat. After I put down the phone. I look at Grace with a huge grin in my face.

Grace looks at me like I'm the crazy one here.

"Prof. Calvin, invited me to sign a contract in Keendrain Asylum! " I happily said.
