Chapter 2: Candice's Point of view
It was a three and a half story house, which included a basement, a main floor, a second floor, and a small attic. I didn't know where to start first. All I knew was that it was going to be a long night. Knowing my phone light wouldn't be enough, I packed flashlights. I tried to find candles that I could light, to keep the house lit up. There was a fire place in the living room. Lighting the fireplace would be difficult with no wood, so I'm glad I packed a jacket. Plus it was only two nights, it couldn't get too cold. Making sure I could see, I walked around the house. The living room had a walkway that led right into the kitchen. It was an average sized kitchen, not too big but not small, either. In the kitchen I found several holes in the walls and in the floor. Being careful to watch where I stepped, I headed towards the dining room. The dining room was about half the size of the living room and had a nice antique feeling to it. A broken chandelier hung from a string and a picture frame sat crooked on the wall. I figured an old couple used to live here at one time. Making sure to cover every room in the house, I started setting up the equipment. In the kitchen, there is a voice recorder and video camera set up. Each bedroom had a camera also. I carefully made my way upstairs. The first room that I saw on my right, was a bedroom. Maybe it was a kid's bedroom because it wasn't very big. Moving on down the hall, there was another bedroom on the left. I figured it was the master bedroom. I stepped into the room. The floor creaked and gave me the chills. This bedroom in particular was very cold and gave off a negative feeling. Guessing this bedroom would have the most activity throughout the night, I made sure I covered the whole area. There was a huge walk-in closet and a door that led to the master bathroom. As I walked out of the room, I thought I heard something. It was very faint so I just ignored it. Continuing down the hall, there was another small bedroom on the left. This one was a little bigger than the other one. It had one window that was smashed, and the carpet was torn to pieces. The walls were full of holes and the paint was peeled down the corners. As I stepped out of the room, I had heard a very clear but quiet whisper. Again, I just ignored it. At the end of the hallway was a stairway, that I figured led to an attic. The stairs creaked under me and I thought I would fall through. Reaching the top of the stairs, was a door. It was rusty and had a huge hole in it. I turned the knob and walked in. This was a small attic and was very creepy. It was freezing and gave me goose bumps up and down my legs and arms. I didn't like this room one bit. Dust was everywhere and the room was pitch black. I quickly made my way out of there. I closed the door, and headed down the stairs to the second floor. When I got to the end of the staircase, I heard a loud bang from above me. Not knowing what it was, I ignored it and hoped that it was caught on camera. Next stop, the basement. Just like the attic, it was very cold and pitch black. I brought a candle with me just in case.
