Nobody talked to the quiet boy in the corner. He never spoke, always having headphones on. They used to think he was deaf, but he just didn't care. Everyone said he was crazy, a freak, disgraceful and so on. They shunned him because he was different, and that different scared them. But really, he knew the truth. He knew he was crazy, and he embraced him. They shunned him for being different, but he shunned them for pretending to be normal when they were all as fucked up as him. We live in a world where everyone is gray, and everyone tries to be gray, because being gray meant being real, being popular, being normal, being accepted, being boring. And yet, in this world where everyone wants to be gray, he dared to be colorful, to stand out. And he knew he was the only real one. I wish I had his courage. No matter how many people judged him, he was himself. After all, youth is fleeting, and we have no time to be gray. You need to make your mark on the world, to stand out and be different. Everyone thinks that, and yet no one had the balls to do it, not until he came. Thank you, boy in the corner, for giving me hope to be my colorful self in this world of grays.
