Ch 17: Saving Eri - Part 4

In another room, Kirishima was resting on a bed, all patched up. "This oughta stop the bleeding for the time bein'. Can't say I like it, but I've gotta let you rest for a while."

"He good and healed yet? I'll kill him!" Rappa intruded.

"As if! Let him be!" Fatgum scolded. ".....Y'know, as long as we're openin' up a little here...I guess it's kinda weird to ask you, seein' I'm an agent and all, but what're you doin' stuck in a small-time gang like this one?"

"That'd be because Overhole's the only guy I ever lost to."

"Lost...?"

"He told me to join his little gang, appeared outta nowhere pickin' a fight...We're talkin' underground fights here. It All bends on who wins and who loses, naturally.

"Then I died. Or so I thought. But then I was back to normal. I've challenged him five times since I joined the gang, and lost all five. A perfect loss record. I only spent all this time here to beat him one day."

'...Hold on a second...In other words, Chisaki's able to take this guy's speed and power, and handle them, no problem?' Fatgum broke out into a cold sweat.

"And while he himself's strong, he lets his underlings do the battlin'...Why doesn't he come out to fight? I mean, he ain't here, is he? He's either hidin' or on the run, right?"

"What's Chisaki wanna do?" Fatgum asked.

Tengai, tied up, tried to stop him but Rappa replied. "He said he'd 'reinstate' the yakuza. I don't know all the details, I overheard him talking once. Said he'd be 'spreading' something, and lots of it...Said he'd need money, too...And if that he could get enough...The day he carries it out is right around the corner."

Winding back the clock...In the basement, right after the invasion began.

"So noisy...wonder if they're being any use..." Chisaki complained.

Chisaki's right-hand man, Chronostasis, walked behind him, holding Eri. "I don't wanna say it, but...This is the end of the Precepts, isn't it."

"As long as the boss and I are around, the Precepts won't die. Most of our henches are with the boss; they won't follow my ideas. Even though I'm the one who values the boss's will the most out of any of them...As long as we have finished this product...and this serum, then us gangsters can stage a comeback. And this incident's gonna be the talk of the town for all the dilettantes out there. I can see it now: 'The Drug Feared by Agents!' That's the sorta thing they eat up. And they'll come running at us with the funding in hand.

"So it's time you went to work, transfer temps."

A girl in a schoolgirl outfit with her blonde hair in two messy buns, and a man in a black and grey full-body suit with a 'T' on the chest stood in the hallway

"Sure will~"

"Leave it to us, Overhaul."

Back in the present, with Nighteye's group...

The hallway began shifting frantically again, slowly closing in on the group. 

"He's at it again!! Quit this shit already!"

"The ceiling!! The walls!! The floor!!"

"They're all closing in!! We'll all be crushed to death!!"

"We're gonna be turned into ground beef!!"

(Y/N) had her hands on the ground, trying to negate the effects by bending the ground back into its regular shape. "Ah, will you stop yelling?! I need to concentrate! Maybe I can find Irinaka if you could shut up!!"
