Chapter 4.

School.

"Alexis Smith?" the man in his jet black suit asked.

"Well duh, unless you have the freaking memory of a goldfish, i just told you!" Okay, that was what I said in my head. What I really said was:

"Yes, sir."

I was standing in the principal's office of the Uasal Scoil Bhaile Átha Cliath.* I had made him believe I had been a student before I left Dublin for a while.

And I had forced myself to become Alexis Smith, a normal 17 year old girl.

Thankfully, the school term had not started and I was just in time for registration.

"Well, term starts in a week. Please get ready your books by then. And we hope you enjoy learning here, Alexis." he smiled.

I gave a weak smile as I hurried out into the open.

The coast was clear as I changed into my crow form.

Why the heck had I agree to Joel's plan?

That bastard.

That a**hole.

That male b*tch.

Then again, things could have been worse. I could have my heart ripped out by vampire hunters if I was caught...

I reached.

"Hey Alex! How was the registration? Or should I say, Alexis?" he chuckled at his failed attempt of a damn joke.

I ignored him and went up the stairs.

------

Why did I agree to being called Alexis?

"It's a simple variation of your name, Alex. Or would you rather Alexandra?" I could hear Joel's voice resounding in my head.

I looked at myself in the mirror in my "Alexis" form.

Oh my gawd.

I was really different.

My 5'10'' height was now about 5'6''.

My raven black hair was longer and fell on my shoulders.

My ruby red eyes were hazel brown and my normally ghastly pale face was a slight shade darker.

I gave a weak smile. The girl in the mirror smiled back.

Honestly, I couldn't recognise myself.

Guess this was perfect, considering I was disguising myself as a gal.

When was I ever going to learn?

And soon, this "girl" was going to be put to the test.

Let's just see how well my acting skills go.

-----

The bell resounded as I headed to school in a flash- literally.

First period- Homeroom.

Great.

"Good morning class, my name is Ms Yeow and I'll be your homeroom teacher." she greeted, as she started attendance-taking.

My eyes swerved to her, but immediately turned away.

Fat was an understatement. Pudgy covered it- at least a half.

Hmmm, what synonyms were there for fat, ugly, pompuous woman etc?

And heck, why in humanity did she wear a revealing black dress?

Even a fake gal like me knows fat people, lay off black.

"Alexis Smith." she called as I raised my hand.

Now, where was my iPhone?

It was time for playing Temple Run after all.

1000 million. My new personal best.

-----

It was followed by Biology, and taught by Mr Wilson. He was short, but his hair was gelled back neatly.

Kinda like Professor Flitwick in Harry Potter books- one of my personal favourite books.

"Pair up, students! We'll be learning about the system of a frog. Now get your frogs here..." he ordered as we entered the class.

Lol. Wonder if we get to keep the blood.

I shuffled up to a seat next to a guy. He had dark brown eyes and ruffled dark brown hair.

"Hi, I'm Ian. What's your name?" he asked, smiling as I sat.

"Alexis. Nice to meet you." I gave a small smile back.

As we worked on the dissection of the frog together, I couldn't help but feel an ominous feeling inside me.

And it wasn't the fact there was a damned messed up frog on the table.

Was it just me, or was Ian staring at me intently?

I decided not to look back.

I had an inkling something was stirring up.

And how right I was.

"Bye Alexis," he called as lesson ended.

"Bye," I replied back as I went to my following lessons.

-----

Lessons ended quick enough and soon i was back 'home'.

"How was school?" Joel asked 'concerned'.

"Freaking lame..."

But that warm feeling was stirring inside me.

Just what was it?
