"No. And you can't smell their magic either. You can only taste it."

"Well that's disgusting," Wallis sighs and picks up a pen from his desk, tapping it against the wood, "Why would you come to me?"

"Because you know who lives where."

"I'm sure you could have easily compelled someone in the police department, social security even."

"But this is your town," David reminds, "Vampires control this entire area. Your family controls this city. I don't need another war on my back. I know what business you run here."

Wallis takes note of his honesty.

The smartest move would be to come here, ask for permission, expose the Bella's. It would mean that whatever Braddock says he can do, it would be protected.

He's right, no war on his back..

"Do you have proof?" Mayor Braddock doesn't hesitate to ask that question.

"Tell me where they are, I can get proof," He states.

Braddock thinks back to what his daughter mentioned a while ago; Aaronzé and a girl were at the market buying wolfsbane.

    A Bella child, at that.

Wallis already knew the answer. Yes. They're harboring witches. Lowering their own abilities to hide. But.. Why?

Wallis has the grandfather of the family hunting monsters that cross into town, and the grandmother made glamours for their Braddocks so that they could appear aged.. He wasn't torturing anyone.

But.. He is using other witches for the potency of their blood.. And everyone in town that was aiding the Braddock could possibly know.

Unless the Bella family is trying to keep a powerful witch in the dark out of fear that they might be the one Wallis has been looking for.. It's not like they're hiding from David. Covering their abilities doesn't cover the fact that they're on the run from him.

"Alright," Mayor Braddock decides, "On one condition."

    "Anything."

"You make it known to them that you're the one looking for them," He says, "Bring me the wolfsbane. I'll make sure they can't get anymore."

"It's easier for me to k!ll them while they're taking it," David admits, "Why would you want me t—"

"Because before you k!ll them I need them brought to me.."

Although David didn't entirely know what he was going to do, Wallis on the other hand has a plan. He's going to drain them. He's going to make plentiful use of them before they're k!lled.

He's going to set the marketplace on fire.
