Ghazal: Heart's Desire

What you do not have you cannot lose;

what you possess, you will lose over and over.

The ruin of a landmark is a landmark,

its new name blooms from the mode of its destruction.

Mother, you have been taken from me, and oh! the taste of my loss

is sweeter than any milk you ever spared.

The name of the stone is Heart’s Desire

but it is a stone. And it is a stone.
