Okay, honestly this book is not some action packed thriller. If you want action, you need to read my other book, Jezebel. You can find it right on my profile. Anyway, it WILL start off a little slow because this is what I think of a real romance story. If you don't like it, you can always read something else. Thank you.

Chapter 1

"Why don't you just put your hair up in a high ponytail instead of a low one?" Ashanti asked Tonya as she tried to fix Tonya's hair for her. "It would look so much better."

"No, I like my hair like this." Tonya insisted, trying to fight her cousin off from changing her hair style.

Tonya's low ponytail was sort of like her comfort zone and she had this weird thought in her head that if her hair was up in a high ponytail, it would bring too much attention towards her. She hated attention. Not in a bad way, but she just felt too nervous whenever Ashanti would dress her all prettied up and all of Ashanti's guy friends would stare at her and start flirting. Tonya feared boys.

"Let me just do your hair please." Ashanti begged her, slapping Tonya's hands away and pulling the hair band out of her hair, so she could fix it the way she liked.

Tonya sighed and slouched forward in her chair. Ashanti had already forced her to put on eye liner, eye shadow and lip gloss. She even made her wear a skirt with a very low-cut V-neck blouse. She would much rather be wearing her skinny jeans and a shirt with some sneakers. Tonya felt exposed.

Tonya nervously played with her hands in her lap as she sat on the chair waiting for Ashanti to finish. She finally stepped back after a few minutes and smiled at Tonya as if admiring her work. Tonya rolled her eyes and pouted.

"Oh, don't be like that, Tonya." Ashanti grinned as she dug in her purse to apply even more lip gloss to her already glossed lips. "You look gorgeous." The door bell buzzed and Tonya's stomach immediately twisted in knots as she watched Ashanti strut down the narrow hallway to answer the intercom. "Hello?"

"Hey, I'm here." A guy's voice replied.

"Be right out in a minute." Ashanti replied happily. She walked back over to Tonya in the living room and frowned at her as she noticed Tonya still wringing her hands in her lap and biting her bottom lip nervously. "Oh, stop it. It's just Joshua."

"Yes, but what if he brought Kevin with him?" Tonya asked, frowning and biting her bottom lip again.

"Even better for you." Ashanti winked at her and slipped her feet into her sneakers. "Come on. Let's go."

"I don't know about this." Tonya shook her head, too afraid to even leave the chair she was sitting in.

"What? You don't like him?" Ashanti asked, crossing her arms over her chest and cocking her head to the side as she looked at her cousin with a raised eye brow.

"No, no, you know I like him..." Tonya blushed as her voice trailed off.

"So what's the problem?" she asked, annoyed. She didn't wait for an answer. "Just come on. You're always in the house and you don't ever hang with me outside. Stop being such a punk."

I'm not a punk." Tonya punched her playfully in the arm.

"Well, you sure are acting like one." She grabbed Tonya's arm and pulled her from the comfort of her chair. Oh, how she wished she could just run into the bedroom she shared with Ashanti and climb into her bed and watch TV or something. She really did not want to hang with Ashanti and her friends. Ashanti grabbed her keys off the hallway stand and turned off the lights. "Mom, we're going to be outside for a bit. Be right back!"
