It had been four weeks since Daud had killed the Empress, an action that undoubtedly changed his life for the worse. Hours after he had assassinated her, a man-hunt was issued for the killer of Empress Jessamine Kaldwin, although they had already captured the man that the High Overseer framed for the murder, Corvo.

Cold. Wet. Covered in filth. These were several adjectives to describe Daud's situation, especially after one of his former students, Billie Lurk, betrayed him to rescue Corvo and join his Resistance against the High Overseer. Lurk was like a daughter to him, and seeing her abandon Daud like a commoner on the street was no laughing matter to him. It hurt... but not enough to interfere with his own line of work, which was still very much active despite the massive man-hunt around Dunwall. This mission was simple: "Break into the Dunwall City Bank, kill the Debt Collector, and leave. Unnoticed." Daud had done several jobs of this caliber before, so this was a very simple task to him. "Hmmm.... Guards are out in numbers tonight. This just got interesting," Daud murmured to himself as he watched the patrol patterns of the Bank's guards. There were much more than usual, something that wasn't included in the job description. Nevertheless, Daud watched. And watched. And watched. He often stayed like this for hours at a time, looking for a perfect moment to get in as efficiently and as quietly as possible, even though Dunwall's guard force wasn't exactly.... professional in their line of work. Beating and/or arresting people who looked the wrong way at them, pocketing money when no one was looking, and drinking on the job were some of the numerous things these "Guards" did on duty. Yet, Daud saw mercy in them, giving them quick deaths in return. All of this, tumbling through Daud's mind as he peered closely at the patrolling filth, finally shining a smile.

It was time.

(Oi, are you folks excited for this one? I know I am! I'll try Emphasis on TRY to write two chapters a day. But alas, this story will be short, only about 10-12 if that. Happy Reading!)
