Mount Vesuvius Eruption

About 90 miles south of Rome, in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius which stood approximately 6,500 feet high. No one was aware that Mount Vesuvius was an active volcano.

 My mother woke me up at about 9:00 in the morning and the ground was rumbling, it felt as if an earthquake occurred but we didn't think much of it. Later that afternoon the ground rumbled again, my mother asked me if i could go outside and see what really is going on. I look  around for a bit and there's smoke on the top of the Great Mount Vesuvius it was so high, i couldn't see the mountain at all, the air was thick and it was hard to breathe.

I run as fast as i possibly could to tell my mother, she grabs some of our favourite food out of the pantry, we quickly grab our kitten Piper. I grabbed Piper and we ran to the sea gates. I see my mother trip over the concrete while we were running, i say a prayer and sprint to her. I help her up , the boats were filling up quickly.

We finally got onto the boat called S.S Scurvy Dog, i look back and i see my best friend staring at me crying, i tried calling out her name but she got lost in the crowd of people. My tears blur my vision, i tried screaming her name as loud as i possibly could knowing i'd never see her again. I am so terrified and furious that i could die. The boat starts moving away from the shore , i hug my mum as tight as possible while crying a river of tears.

As soon as we got off the shore i heard Mount Vesuvius erupt, then the reality sets in and i start to cry again, my mum tries to comfort me but nothing seems to work at this point of time. Nothing seems to calm me down , i wish i was still in Pompeii.

I woke up the next morning and i see the shore up ahead , i have Piper snuggled into my chest and i put her on my legs to keep her safe. My mum hands me some breakfast , i accepted it and said thank you.

Somehow i fell asleep again and this time i woke up and we were on land. We made it safe.
