"Come on Maya!" I giggle at the girl sitting next to me in Ms. Sharps class. "I wanna go to recess!" I yell happily at her. She still has her head in a book as I kept nudging her arm.
"Addison might be there!" I whisper excitedly hoping she will come with me. After a few more minutes I can feel tears of frustration start to build up behind my eyes.
"You know I don't like going alone." I plead tearfully, "What if she tries to talk to me!" I say in a squeaky voice. I keep prodding her, until finally she turns to face me.
"Fine, I'll go with you, but if she tries to talk to you, I'm out." Maya says in a cool voice, giving me a roll of her eyes. "Just please, please, please don't start to excessively rant about her. I've heard it too many times." I give her a confused look but nod anyway.
Sensing my confusion she quickly explains the word excessively to me. Giving her a nod even though I heard nothing, we walk out the doors.
As soon as we walk out we get blinded by the sun. Covering our eyes we head toward an old, run down shed that stores all of the schools tools. Nobodies allowed inside, but there's a bench on the other side of it that Maya and I like to sit at.
I plop down on the bench and Maya does the same. In comfortable silence we sit in the cool November air.
Maya pulls out the books she was reading in class and just ignores the world once more going on an adventure of her own.
Quickly getting bored I start to poke her until she looks up at me with a glare.
"What?" She says lightly despite the look in her eyes that says she's mad that I messed with her.
I gulp before trying to get on her good side again. "So, what's that book about?" I ask noticing the anger in her eyes vanish completely. She slowly starts to smile and bounces on the bench.
"It's about this kid whose like 4 years older than us named Harry. His parents died by this evil wizard and he's going to his first year at Hogwarts where he-" She explains to me. After something about a pig I just tune her out and start thinking about Addison.
Her brown hair flowing behind her in a chocolate waterfall and brown eyes that turn to caramel in the sun. She is pretty and I've liked her since the beginning of the school year. Unfortunately she is in Mrs. Lily's class rather than mine and Maya's. She got the fun teacher.
Noticing the sudden silence I snap back to reality to see Maya staring at me.
"So, based on who I described whose your favorite character?" She asks innocently, not noticing my daydreaming.
"Oh, uhm, Harry?" I say more like a question. She puts on a thoughtful gaze before replying.
"Oh, really? Why?" She ask just as innocently as before.
"Because, he, erm, is very observant, and it sucks being an orphan and he has a pet, pig?" I say smiling hoping she will just move on from the subject.
"Oh really? Funny. If you would have paid attention you would have heard that he is least observant person out there! Although I think now you've just topped him. Not to mention that Hogwarts is the school he goes to!" She tells me and I look down. Looks like she did notice after all. I know I'm observant, though. In fact I was one of the only people to get the definition of it correct in class. Ms. Sharp switched around a few of the words and I noticed.
"I am too observant! I'm the best observanter out there!" I tell her trying to redeem myself. She raises an eyebrow at me.
"Oh really? If you were you would have noticed Addison walking our way. Two o'clock." She tells me. I stare at he confused.
"No it's only 11?" I ask her. Frustrated she turns my head to look over to the side of me.
I catch my breath as I watch Addison walk towards us. I jump to my feet when she arrives and gesture to the bench, indicating a place for her to sit.
She sits down gracefully, reminding me of a princess. I watch her every movement before I notice she's been speaking.
"I'm sorry what?" I say blushing and looking at my shoes which I'm suddenly very interested in.
"I was just telling you guys about this party that Connor is hosting and I was wondering if you wanted to go? He said I could ask people who I wanted to come." She explains again in a smooth voice.
"Oh, uhm, cool. I'd have to talk to my mom see if she'd let me come." I respond slightly in a daze because she's actually talking to us and she wants us to come to her older brothers party.
"Oh, that's not a problem! It's for Connors soccer game trophy that he won." I nod absently and just smile. I couldn't care less about soccer but I don't want to upset her. Still smiling I hear the bell ring and watch her get up.
She turns towards the school and I watch her with a lovestruck look on my face.
Snapping out of my daze I turn to Maya whose still silently staring at Addie's retreating back. I notice something in her eyes but when she looks at me it's immediately gone. I just shrug it off as a trick of the light and walk towards the door.
Whoop!! first chapter done! Vote and comment to give me feedback! Until next time loves!
