Kiyo's P.O.V
I groaned quietly as Mr. Martin babbled on about the different countries around the world. He had already went over this yesterday so there really wasn't a point in listening. He was so old that he probably forgot.
I glanced around the classroom. Seeing many bored kids. My heart stopped when my eyes landed on Adrian.
I couldn't lie, I pretty much hated Adrian. We were enemies. He would constantly be rude to me. Mostly with words, maybe a few pushes here and there. But recently he's been very aggressive, he actually punch me in the stomach pretty hard yesterday. It kind of makes me wonder why.
I snapped out of my thoughts when my eyes met Adrian's. I quickly looked away and sighed.
"For the next few weeks we're going to be working on partner projects! Each set of partners will get a place in the world that they have to research and make a presentation of. The presentation should include a food native to that country and information about that country." Mr. Martin announced.
I turned my attention to Mr. Martin. The project actually sounded decently interesting.
"And you and your partner will present your work at the world festival at school. This project is also worth 70% of your grade this semester so you better work hard on it. I will be assigning your partners so when I'm done go sit with your partner and I'll tell you what country you have." He explained.
I crossed my fingers. If I get partnered with Adrian everything will be over. I really hope Mr. Martin wouldn't do that to me.
"The partners are ally and Linda, Kevin and Chris, Markus and Simon, Adrian and Kiyo..."
I tuned out everything after I heard my name. How? Out of anyone I could've been partnered with, why him?
I grumbled quietly and put my head in my hands. How could I be so unlucky? Suddenly I heard people rustling around. I moved my hands a bit so that I could see. I glanced around, not seeing Adrian.
"Huh?" I mumbled to myself in confusion. Then I heard someone basically fall into a chair next to me. I quickly looked to the side. It was Adrian. He looked just as displeased as I did.
He glared at me then sighed and looked at the ground. He grumbled quietly before looking back up at me.
"Listen here Idiot, you better do good on this project and save my grade. Because if I fail this class your life for the next two years is going to be living hell," He grumbled in an intimidating voice.
"How about no? I'm not doing this project alone. You're going to help me wether you like it or not," I said back.
"What did you just fucking say to me?"
"I said that you're going to help with this project," I said angrily. Adrian looked at me with an pissed off expression.
"And what if I don't help?"
"Oh trust me, you will," I growled.
"No, actually, I won't." He grumbled. Adrian shoved my chair.
"How can you be so childish?!" I asked, annoyed.
"I don't know, how can you be so fucking stupid?!" He shouted back. We soon began to yell at each other.
"You're a fucking dumbass! No wonder you don't have a girlfriend!"
"You don't have one either, Idiot!" I yelled.
"I bet your parents don't even love you! I mean, who would?"
"You're so useless!"
We continued to go back and forth until Adrian got fed up. He stood up and pushed the table a bit before storming out of the class.
I growled quietly and looked around. Surprisingly no one even noticed our argument. Everyone was too busy talking to each other.
Then I noticed Mr. Martin slowly approaching me. He smiled warmly at me.
"Hello Kiyo," He said in a sweet tone.
"Hey Mr. Martin," I said, smiling a bit.
"Where is your partner?" He asked, glancing around.
"Ah, he went to go grab something. He'll be back soon,"
"Oh, alright. Well you and your partner have Japan as your country, please tell your partner next time you see him," He said. I nodded. He then slowly walked over to the next set of partners.
"Japan isn't bad I guess," I mumbled to myself. I sighed. Now I have to get Adrian to actually work with me. I may hate him but there is no way I'm doing this project alone.
