THE LIES BEGIN

Annabella awoke to a light, cream colored chamber. Statues lined the walls, and she found herself occupied in the delicacy. It was at that moment Annabella realized that breathing, she was not. It were as if a vacuum was sucking the air directly out of Annabella's lungs.

A glowing woman, comparable to one of the pearly statues on the wall, waltzed into the room, her shining bronze hair flowing in the dim candlelight. The olive shade that her skin blended into the darkness, only illuminated by the candles at the sides of the chasm.    Her attire at the time had been a glittering lime-tinted gown, the color bouncing off of the stone walls. Annabella found herself feeling the need to gasp, but there was less time than air, and the lady had enough of both to speak to the youth before her.

"You may not know of me just yet young one," She soothed. Her voice was like silk, and mysteriously calmed Annabella with every word, "but when you do- the world will have already ended."
Annabella's eyes fluttered open. Annabella sat up, and began to cough. Annabella's mouth was dry and her voice raspy. Thank goodness it had all been a dream.
Annabella was in her room, accompanied by her sleepy red-headed cousin on the air mattress across from her bed. She's still asleep, Annabella thought to herself as her thoughts slowly fluttered out of mind.
Annabella focused on her room. The walls were painted a pale yellow, and Annabella's colorless wooden desk was placed to the right of her white framed window. her room was kept tidier than most, and she was sure proud of that.
"Ruby." Annabella tapped lightly on her shoulder, but she had not responded. Annabella grabbed her dark glasses, before tapping her shoulder once more. "Wake up. I have your glasses," She taunted.
Ruby, Annabella's cousin, turned on her side, her dark auburn hair sprawled over her ghostly light skin. Freckles splattered against her face. "Stupid prophecies, ruining all the fun," Ruby muttered, her chocolatey eyes opening. "Oh, hi Anna!"
Annabella rolled her eyes, "Hello, Ruby." Anna whispered something inaudible, cracked her knuckles, and trudged down the spiral stairs.

Cooking a slow breakfast, Anna tediously cracked the eggs into the pan. It was unfortunate to Ruby and Infinity that it was Anna's turn to make breakfast. Ruby was a great cook, flipping pancakes onto the plates without fail. Anna on the other hand, stuck with eggs and toast. "We should just order McDonald's next time." She muttered to herself, throwing the burnt eggs into the trash. She had just put the delicate pan on the stove, when a viridescent fire thrashed it's way to the air. Annabella was stiff when Ruby waltzed down the staircase. Suddenly, the fire started sending electric shocks of golden yellow dripping down the marble counters. Ruby snapped out of it and gripped Annabella's wrist. "Come on!" Anna ran after her, and didn't look back. The house was smoldering with grief. Anna, trying to enlighten the mood, erupted the silence. "I didn't think I was that bad at cooking." Ruby laughed with no emotion. "I think you're missing something, Ruby, I think it's time I tell you about my dream." "I'm not in the mood for your stupid dream." Ruby said coldly. Infinity nudged her, and something in his eyes looked like he was saying, listen, Ruby, stop being so ignorant. She then took a deep breath, and before she could say anything, Anna proceeded to tell her what her dream was about. "Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?" "I know I'm sorry, I didn't want you to freak or anything." Ruby took a deep breath. "I over-reacted. I'm sorry too, I'm just really confused by all of this. It's a lot, you know?" She paused. "Welp, looks like we're going on an adventure, huh?" She pulled Infinity's red, leather leash out of her pocket, and hooked it to his leash.
