The new roommate

Autumns P.O.V

I pull in through the gate of the huge house.
Holy shit. I think to myself. This place is so much bigger in person then it looks online.
I had been waiting four years for this day. I had known Colby since before he was really famous on vine or YouTube or any social media platform. We had almost a "forbidden love" kind of thing going on.
Him being three years older than me didn't help the situation either.
But, I had finally turned 18. I graduated high school in May, and saved up enough money to buy a plane ticket to LA. And now that I'm here it's so surreal.

I walk up to the huge wood doors and ring the doorbell. I hear dogs barking and people yelling for someone to go get the door. Finally a tall guy with flippy hair opens the door.
"You must be jake," I say. "I'm autumn. I'm the new roommate. I'm not sure if Colby told you or the other roommates about it."
Jake looks me up and down trying to figure out if I'm a deranged fan or actually telling the truth.
"COLBY!!!" He yells up the stairs. "The new roommate is here."
He ushers me into the house and shuts the door so the dogs don't get out.
I'm in utter shock at how big the house is. "Holy shit" I mumble under my breath.
"It really is something, isn't it?" I jump and realize Cory had come in the door right behind me.
"Yeah. This place is huge."
I look up at the balcony off the second floor and see him. My heart skips a beat. Even though me and Colby had been talking for almost four years we never met in person. I'm terrified and excited and nervous all at once.
When he finally comes down the stairs he's shirtless wearing gray sweatpants that say beyond down the side.
He stops at the bottom of the stairs and just stairs at me. I stare at him. We stare at each other for what feels like an eternity. Just looking into each other's eyes.
Finally he pushes some hair out of his eyes and says, "are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna give me a hug?"
I drop my purse and back pack and walk to him. But I don't wanna walk. I want to sprint full speed into his arms. But I'm afraid he's gonna think I'm weird and not want me to live here anymore.
So, instead of sprinting into the man of my dreams' arms, I walk at a normal pace and hug him from a distance. Not a full "wrap your arms around each other" hug. But a "put your hands on their shoulder blades" kind of hug.
We finally let go.
"Well, let me show you around and introduce you to all the roommates. And your room isn't ready yet so you'll just sleep in my room with me. If that's okay with you. If not I'll sleep down here on the couch and you can have my bed."
"I'm not gonna take over your room. I'll sleep on the couch."
"I'm not allowing that. You are sleeping in my room. With or without me." He stomps his foot playfully and my heart melts. I can't believe this is actually happening. The man I've known for four years is standing right in front of me. I never knew a person could have so much feelings for another person. Especially one they just met.
"Alright so let me show you around. This is the kitchen. And this is the game room. These are really the only two rooms we use down here other then the bathroom. Alright, now if you'll follow me upstairs. All the roommates are playing fortnite."
I laugh a bit. "I figured. That's all they ever do. On or off camera."
"Yeah," He looks at me and gives me a slight smirk. "Here's our room. It's a queen bed so there's plenty of room for both of us. Do you have a moving truck coming or is this all you brought?" He asks, pointing to my purse and back pack.
"I'm supposed to have a small Penske truck coming within the next few days. So once that gets here the. I'll be good to go." I give him the thumbs up.
"Alright. Well, I'll let you unpack what little stuff you do have and then in the meantime, you want a snack?"
"Yes please. I'm hungry."
"Alright I'll make you something." He starts to walk out the room and stops in the door way. "Oh, autumn?"
"Yes?"
"You're much prettier in real life then on a computer screen." He blushes and walks away. Leaving me in utter shock. My heart skipping a beat every two second.
How did I get so lucky?
