Cinderella

Cinderella as in Disney version was adapted after the first original stories either in the 1st century BC or the Brothers Grimm version. It's told Cinderella was actually "Rhodopis" in Strabo's version, but the cruelty is when the step-sister of Cinderella cuts off their toes to fit into the tiny glass slipper. Somehow, some stories recite that the step-mother persuade her daughters to cut off the feet, so when they become queen, they won't have to walk...The prince noticed the blood oozing out the slipper and of course- disgusted. It was far more horrify than the Disney version where the step-sister pass the tries to Cinderella. However, the worse come after Cinderella or Rhodopis get marries, they attend the wedding, only to have their eyes pecked out by birds...As the result, they end up spending their life as blind beggars while Cinderella gets to lounge in luxury at the prince's castle. In addition, some version of the stories told that Cinderella doesn't have a god mother instead she just pray near a tree where her mother buried. So is it a " happy ending" ?
