"We got pizza!"

Everyone rushed to the two boxes of pizza I had just brought to our "area" at lunch. I started looking around while everyone was eating. We looked so happy, like we were all having so much fun. I can't believe we are already seniors. It doesn't even feel like it.

It kinda makes me sad looking at how happy we all are at this moment, and in a few months most of us wouldn't even be keeping in touch. I want to cherish this silly moment forever. I mean we are just eating pizza and joking around but we're having fun. We are still kids. That will all change so soon.

I stood up on the wall nearby to take a picture overlooking our group. It was a perfect picture, our own little Kodak Moment.

Gabriel helped me down. I couldn't help but smile at him. I love him, always have, it just took me a while to realize it. We had been together for almost a year now. I hoped that some things didn't have to end.

"Are you okay babe?"

"I'm fine, just thinking."

He was concerned but he knew the whole idea of senior year scares me. It is just so final.

I flashed him a sweet, reassuring, but totally fake smile.

He grabbed my hand, it makes me feel better to know how strong he is when it comes to things like this.

I broke our sweet little moment because my best friend Subrina started to dance to whatever music was playing on her iPod. We were dancing together and a few other girls joined in doing some dumb dance that was suddenly popular.

My boyfriend was laughing so hard that no sound was coming out of his mouth and he was clapping his hands like a retarded seal.

The dance was that dumb.

I don't even know why we were doing it.

Oh well, haha, it is fun.

Our whole group kind of broke into laughter and the dancing subsided temporarily.

Gabriel and I strayed from our group a little and the cricle formed to the side of us. I don't even care, I just need him to hold me. I find it silly that simple things like lunch get me all worked up.

He leaned down to kiss my forehead and I closed my eyes for just a second as I saw school security running past us.

Great, immature kids are fighting again.

Security guard Hammer ran past us.

Rent-A-Cop.

He was heavy and his speed, or lack there of, was allowing this fight to continue.

We heard this loud noise, I'm not sure what it was, but it was scary.

Gabriel took my hand and we ran.

There were some screams coming from kids.

"Gun!"

I heard so many people saying it.

I can't believe it. I am frozen in fear and disbelief.

Gabriel is begging me to move.

I find my legs again and we're moving, but I keep looking back.

Where are my friends?

Is everyone okay?

Did someone really bring a gun?

What kid is shooting??

I come out of my dream of questions and Gabriel is holding me like he is shielding me from danger.

But we are safe, hiding somewhere at the very back of the school, somewhere behind the J-Wing.

The school has fallen completely silent.

No more shots ring out, no more screams, no footsteps.

"Gabriel?"

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine, what just happened?"

"I don't know, I just wanted to get you out of there, out of harms way. I love you and I don't want anything to happen to you."

"And I love you, but we need to go back."

"Why?"

"Make sure our friends are okay."

"Do you have your phone?'

"Yeah, I'll call Subrina."

"Subrina?"

"Hey! Where are you? Are you okay? Is Gabriel with you? Did you see what happened? I'm with everyone else. We couldn't find you guys, We thought something happened to you. We just heard the shots and ran."

She was crying hysterically and she was talking to fast for me to understand what else she said.

"SUBRINA! WE ARE FINE. WE"RE BEHIND THE J-WING!"
