You have the same routine.
Day in and out.
And there are slight differences in that routine to make it seem.... different.
From a new flavor of coffee... new style of make up.... hair up... hair down... changing ringtone.... or as simple as updating your profile photo on your latest social media site to seem "with the times."
you go to work. at a job you typically do not like. and work with people who really do not want to be there, let alone... be around you.
You follow the latest fad on your newest phone or computer and eat according to the latest celebrity or follow a exercise routine for a week.... more like a few days.... and then you fall off the wagon and then go into a state of hopelessness, regret, acceptance, and repeat.
And then you reflect on a better you- past or future.
you go home. some of us go home to an empty home. i didn't say single house hold, i said empty.
you hide behind twinkling christmas lights and warm smelling candles.
you hide behind fuzzy socks and bubble baths.
you hide behind rom-coms and soap operas.
and every time you get up to use the restroom or go into the bathroom... you hide from your reflection because this world that you have built... behind the bought goods is lonely...
no friends who love you for who you are.
no family because they are all busy with their own facade.
and no idea who you truly are because you tried so hard to make yourself happy with the things you bought, believing that because you saw someone else happy with them, you too would be just as happy, if not happier.
what does your reflection say about you?
