The Only Exception.

The loss

We finally finished breakfast. The rain came pouring down flooding the streets. "Welp I guess I'm better off staying here." I said looking out in the window. "Yeah I guess so. Hopefully it won't long." He said handing me a glass of water. I took it and gave him a quick grin. Then I continued to look out at the stormy sky. Axel dissapeared into a random room while I watched the rain pouring down the streets. I suddenly hear soft piano music comeing from different room. I placed my glass of water on the table next to me and walked to the room the music was coming from. As I got closer and closer to where the music was coming from, i noticed that this piano piece was one of my favorites piano pieces ever. "Moonlight sonata" it was a beatiful yet mysterious piece of art. There was a cracked door that led in where Axel was playing on the piano. I slowly tipped toed in the room trying not to make a sound. I got closer and closer to Axel until the music stopped. Hs suddenly gets up from the bench and turns to see me. We locked eyes yet again. "Oh, jeez you scared me a little. I didn't hear comeing in." He said in a suprised tone. "Oh, uhm...I just heard you playing the piano and you know..." I said nervously. He smiles at motioning me to sit down. I walk over with my heart raceing, and butterlflies fluttering in my stomach. He sits back down next to me. "So do you know know how to play the piano?" He asked me. "No I haven't touched one before. But I always wanted to know." I tell him. "Oh, well I guess you'll know now, or at least a little bit of it." He said to me. "So what's your favorite piano piece, or do you even have one?" He asked me. "I do actually, my favorite was the one you were just playing." I replied to his question. "Moonlight Sonata?" He asked. "Yep, it's beatiful piece, it's so peaceful yet creepy in a way. And that's why I love it. It has a certain mysterious vibe to it." I explain to him. "What about you? Do have one?" I asked him. "Yeah I do, it's Fur Elise. It's masterpiece to me." He tells me with a smile. "Yeah I really like that one too. It's wonderful, it always puts me to sleep." I said to him looking out the window. "What are you thinking about?" He asked me. "Nothing, really. I guess I'm trying to process about everything about yesterday." I tell him still looking out the window. "I mean I feel you, something like that can just make a huge impact on your life." He said looking at me. "I mean the way she just told me. How she just throws the proof in my face. It's just hard to not think about. Now I have rethink about everything in my life. I just... I don't know...it's just hit me like that." I explained to him. "Well hey at least you know. I mean now you know that your mom or father or even both of them are probably out there." He said to me trying confort me. I honestly couldn't stand talking about this. My thorat had that burning feeling like when you're about to cry. I took a deep breath in and out trying to calm down. It took a little bit but eventually I calmed down. It was silent until Axel's phone rang. "Hello, yeah she's here. What's going on? Are you serious!? Alright we're on our way. We'll get there as fast as we can." He hung up the phone in a instant and gave me look a depressing look. "What is it, what's going on?" I said to him worriedly. "Callie called and it's your sister...she got into a really bad car accident, and now she's being rushed to the hospital." He explained to me. I felt my body instantly get cold, and froze in shock. "I...I-how I dknt under..." I got up and ran to the front door and grab my keys and phone and ran out. I didn't even care about the pouring rain pounding on me. Got into the car Axel ran out the house after me. He was still in his pajamas, just a t- and joggers. He ran up to my car. But it was late because I took off. I didn't care for what he had to say. My sister is most likely in critical condition. When I finally got to my destination. I quickly checked in and rannup to her room. By the time I got there I was out of breath. "Katherine you're here!" Callie said as she was running towards me. "How's she doing? Any updates?" I asked her. Her face look sad and distressed. Her smile turned into a frown. "The doctor said that she's in really bad condition....she might not even come out alive..." she continues telling me everything about her and what had happend. Suddenly the doctor bursts from the door. Giving us "the stare". "What is it doc how's she doing?" Callie said sounding stressed. "It's nothing good ma'm." He said slowly breaking the news. "Don't you dare tell me." Callie said with a shakey voice. My eyes filled with tears, I felt a lump form in my throat. My chest started to burn. I know what had happend I was just waiting. "I'm sorry but she didn't make it through. Her heart stop and we tried the best we could to keep her but she to go." He said telling us. "I'm sorry Katherine..." Callie said hugging me. I was speechless wishing that this was dream. I fell to my knees on the hospital floor. I completely broke down in the middle of a hospital. I didn't care though my sister is gone and she's never coming back....
