The beautiful girl ran through the field of wheat. Her hands skimming over the surface of the stalks. Her silky, white dress flowing out behind her. Loose strands of her her long hair falling in her face. The wind whistled loudly. It was the image of perfection. All the young man wanted to do was run to her. To run with her. To pull her into his strong arms. He wanted to share her happiness. He loved the smile that now lighted her face.

This is what he dreamed his life would be. What he wanted it to be.He wanted her smile. Her joy which, despite not having ever met her, he knew she hadn't experienced much of. Her face seemed to call him to her. He began to rush towards her.

But he stoped abruptly when he heard the screams. When he saw the blood soaking through the hem of her white dress. When the glint of metal became visible through the tall shoots of wheat. His head swam. The girls face continued to draw him forward. As much as he fought against the pull he found himself moving forward. As he got closer the volume of the screams increased. The pounding in his head worsened. But he continued moving closer.

When he finally stood only a few feet away the girl's seemingly innocent smile widened. He noticed that only one scream remained. He turned to look down to where the scream seemed to be coming from, instantly regretting it as he saw the trail of heads that lay on the ground and the source of the one remaining scream. A girl knelt in the tall grass. Her dark hair barely higher than the top of the stalks. She couldn't have even been old enough to have experienced her first bleeding.

He reached a hand out towards her but the high whistle of a blade slicing through the air interrupted him. A scream escaped his own lips as the blade cut the girls head clean off and the other scream was silenced.

His head snapped up in time to see the beautiful girl smile softly. He saw the blade this time. Time slowed as the blade neared. He inspected the silver sword before looking up one more time into the eyes of the girl.

"Scream Killer," he whispered. Before the field was silent once again.
