Ch 6: Bonding

"What about you (Y/N)? Willing to share and life details?" Hizashi asked. 

I shrugged. "I don't have an interesting life. There are a lot of things that I keep under lock and key, though." I finished drinking my green tea frappe, and I noticed something on the other side of the napkin. I took in my hand and flipped it over. On it there was a phone number and a message: Call me; Akui.

I looked at the waiter who took our order, and when he saw my stare...

He looked at me with such evil and malice it made my blood run cold.

"...(Y/N)?"

I snapped out of my trance and looked at Shouta. "You alright?"

"Huh? Oh, I'm fine." I reassured. I stuffed the napkin in my pocket; we paid for our meals and exited the cafe.

We arrived at a park and walked around, chatting about the things going on around us. I was talking about getting some ice cream when I heard a scream. Without hesitation, we ran towards the scream in unison.

When we arrived at the scene, a woman was clutching her burnt arm while a little boy and girl held the woman, crying, "Mommy!! Mommy!! Please don't cry!!" A man stood high above her, smirking and puffing out a little flame. 

"Next time, don't get in my way, woman! You and your shitty children!!" He screamed. People watched, terrified of suffering the same fate as the woman.

"Don't say that!!"

"Eh?"

The little boy stood up in front of his mom and sister, and said, "Mommy told us that no one should hurt other people!! You hurt her!! You're a mean person!!" He spread out his arms in protection.

"Eh? Who cares?! What you need to be told, is to stay out of my WAY!!!!" The man yelled. He pulled back his arm to punch the child. The child screamed in fear.

Before I could think, I felt my legs move faster with every stride I took towards the incident, and put my back to the man, looking at the family with caring eyes.

"It's alright."

All I could feel was a sharp pain spread throughout my back. I squeezed my eyes closed and grit my teeth.

"(Y/N)!!!" Shouta and Hizashi yelled.

Once I felt a force lift from my back, I turned to face the man. "What in the hell do you think you're doing?! Hurting someone with your Quirk!"

The man scoffed. "What's it to you, bitch? As far as I'm concerned, I should ask you why you're getting all up in my business!!"

Breathing out, I sought to settle this spectacle as peacefully as I can. I pulled out my police I.D., saying, "Sir, you are under arrest for unauthorized Quirk usage in public, and the attack of an innocent woman, and attempting to assault a child. You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence."

"Tch, you think I'll obey a little girl like you?! Don't make me use force!" The man persisted.

I sighed. "I said you are under arrest. You hurt innocents, you were going to hurt a child!" I said, slipping my I.D. in my pocket. "And I'll warn you! Don't make ME use force!!"

The man took a deep breath, and I prepared for another attack when I felt my legs give out. I groaned in pain, willing my legs to stand again.

'Come on! Steel your nerves, protect these people!! What kind of person would you be if you didn't?!!'
