"Momma! Momma!" My mother looked frightened back at me. Her shiny, short brunette hair swung as she quickly turned her head. "Are you okay sweetie?" "No! Trolls invaded my castle!" My mother chuckled. It was the first time in a while I saw her pure white teeth.
"Your are smart one." She said as she was giggling.
She saw my fist swinging at air as if I were punching air. She knew I was different. She didn't mind. Not one bit.
This was the start of my journey.
So basically, i wasn't like all kids. I didn't care about technology. I just constantly went in my backyard and went in my "castle." If it wasn't obvious enough, the castle wasn't real. But to me it was. I would fight trolls, plant magical potions, and fight off master tiptoe. Yes, I said it. Master tiptoe. He was the master of the trolls and took over my castle. So what else was there to do when a troll takes over your castle? Sit around and wait for him to leave? No. They don't leave. When I made my castle, I was only three years old. I was a believer. Things change.
At the age of five, I woke up crying in horror because I only had 10 more years. It was my parents birthday.
Where I lived, it was a law that when someone turns the age of 50, they are sent away. No one knows where they go.
I ran into my my moms room and hugged her.
"Jay, baby, are you alright?" She picked me up and set me on her hip.
"I -- I don't wanna loose you." I started sobbing into her shoulder.
"Honey, we are far from that day no need to worry." She pushed my hair out of my face and kissed my forehead. "Now, do you want something to eat?"
"Yes momma." I said while wiping my tears away.
"Okay. Daddy has some food in the kitchen, he would be more than happy to give you some." My mother said with teary eyes.
I started to squint my eyes and take a closer look at her eyes. "Momma, your eyes are watering."
She wiped her cheek and sighed. "I'm just worried." She put me down and pinched my cheek. "Now go to daddy!"
I hugged her leg and ran down the hall into the kitchen. I saw the food, but not my dad.
"Daddy! Daddy!" I called his name constantly and looked everywhere. After a hour of looking, I gave up.
"Momma, I'm going to my castle!" I screamed so she could her me. I went through the back and walked across the moat. I entered and saw a troll. I rubbed my eyes only to find out it wasn't a troll, it was my dad crying.
"Papa!" I ran up to him and hugged him. Suddenly the castle disappeared, and we were sitting on a bench.
"Papa, what's wrong?" I said as I sat on his lap.
He sniffled and said "Ten more years baby girl."
Then he started pouring out tears.
It made me cry again. "Momma said not to worry. The day is far from now."
My papa hugged me tight. "Baby, I never wanna let go."
I hugged him back with my small arms. "Neither do I."
He picked me up and set me down and the concrete. He kneeled down right in fornt of me and looked deep into my eyes with his teary eyes.
"When I do leave--"
He couldn't finish his sentence.
"When I do leave, I will always be with you. No matter what."
That's when he started to cry into his hands.
