Peanut Butter (Shidge)

A/N: So I have this headcanon that Shiro hates peanut butter, and this one shot is based on that. It's short and sweet and also really cheesy.

Pidge sat at the table, reading a quantum physics book and eating peanut butter straight out of the jar. When asked how she got it, she replied that it was her little secret. No one knew how Pidge acquired these things, but she did, and everyone began to accept it.

She had been undisturbed for the last few hours, and it was heaven for a book nerd like her. Good things don't last forever, though, and Shiro walked into the room. Pidge glanced up and sighed in relief when she realized it wasn't Lance. That boy loved pestering her. She was thankful that Shiro was always respectful of her quiet thinking time. He smiled at her, wiping the sweat off his forehead. He had just gotten back from his daily training routine.

"Hey Shiro," she beamed. Shiro always softened around his adorable girlfriend. He blushed because she was so cute with her glasses and whatever geeky book she was reading. It made him feel content.

"Hey cutie," he said, leaning in to give her a peck on the cheek. She practically glowed at his touch. He looked down and saw the jar of peanut butter, making a face. Pidge giggled and pushed her glasses up so they didn't fall off, letting a strand of hair fall into her face in the process.

"Here, let me get that for you," Shiro said sweetly, reaching over and gently brushing her hair to the side, caressing her cheek with his hand. She covered his hand with hers and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I love you, Katie" he whispered. She simply smiled as her cheeks turned pink. They both knew she could be awkward with words. Shiro found it endearing.

He was about to lean in for a kiss when he awkwardly turned away. Pidge laughed at him, playing with his hair.

"Wow. I really underestimated your hate for peanut butter."
"I never thought you'd make such a miscalculation," he smirked. Then he softened, and pulled her to him. "You also underestimated my love for you," he whispered, and kissed her anyway, sweetly and with the passion of a dying star.
