CHAPTER 1: When Ishaana met Ryan

HAPPILY EVER AFTER, the story of a girl, "Ishaana" She is a very beautiful, kind and polite girl but also she is highly reserved and rarely socialize with others that's the reason she has only one friend who loves her innocence. But most of the people of her age ignore her due to her boring and overly reserved nature. She is always nervous to express herself and scared of happiness or happily ever after life let us see why is she like that and what awaits for her.

It was another day of her college Ishaana met her childhood friend or her only friend Payal, as usual, they started talking about random things

"Hey, Ishu! How was the movie?" asked an extremely excited Payal

"which movie?" asked a confused Ishaana

"obviously that blockbuster movie you went to watch yesterday! Its reviews are excellent; even I am planning to watch it. By the way, how did you find it?"Payal again asked her reminding her the movie plan which was made by her mom

"well if it is a blockbuster hit with excellent reviews, then it might be a great movie for the sure, go for it" Ishaana suggested with a smile

"what do you mean by IT MIGHT BE, didn't you go yesterday?" Payal asked her

"no, I didn't go for any movie." Replied Ishaana casually

"But mom said, your mom told her that she is going to a movie with the family," asked the confused Payal

"Yeah! Mom had everything planned but I refused." Ishaana said shrugging her shoulders

"What! Are you nuts? Here I am buttering my parents to take me and you itself refused why!!" asked a shocked Payal

"stop overreacting Payal! I had the assignment to complete." Ishaana gave a most outdated excuse

"unbelievable!! I don't understand, entire day how can you be so engrossed in assignment and studies? It's an important part of our career life but not a life itself." Payal tried explaining her for the 100th time

"common yaar don't start with all that again, what is there to watch in that movie like every love stories two people will meet, fall in love, have to face some problem overcome it, get married and will live happily. I have better things to do than wasting my time in this bullshit." Ishaana said rolling her eyes

"forget it! It's a waste of time talking to you. Anyways did you heard about the new recruitments? They are joining from today." As usual, giving up Payal changed the topic

"new recruitments now, I mean on the middle of the semester?" Ishaana asked

"yes, actually they are diploma students and due to late admission process their recruitment is done now only." Payal explained her

"but how would they cope up with the finished syllabus?" asked a confused Ishaana

"Who cares! As long as there are some handsome hunks" Payal said with a wink

Ishaana just rolled her eyes seeing Payal's excitement for meeting some new people and also handsome hunks, Ishaana just giggled at her antics and both went towards the class, due to new recruitments, sitting arrangements of the class were changed this made Ishaana and Payal sad, as they can't sit beside each other. When she entered her class she saw already a handsome guy seated beside her seat, she thought "maybe he is my partner according to a new sitting arrangement"

"Ishu you are so lucky!! Look at your new partner he is such a Greek god" Payal said in a whispering tone

"Even you are not less beautiful you both will look cute together." She further added in a teasing tone

Ishaana just whispered back "shut up Payal!"

Payal suddenly exclaimed "HELL!"

Ishaana who was taken aback by her reaction asked "what happened?"

"why is a girl sitting beside my seat? Why am I not given a Greek god like him? Who made this stupid arrangement?" Payal said with a sad pout

"you sit with him then! I don't mind sitting with her." said an extremely irritated Ishaana

"I would have loved to but we can't change the seat assigned to us and besides I liked him for you, he is all yours" Payal said and winking at her, she went to her seat.

Ishaana, as usual, rolled her eyes and sat beside him

"hi I am Ryan Kapoor" Ryan introduced himself extending his hand

"hi Ishaana Shergil." Ishaana replied giving him a handshake

"so Ishaana it's nice meeting you! Will you mind sharing the class schedule? Due to late admission I have missed a lot of lectures and don't have schedule also" Ryan asked with a charming smile

"yeah sure here you go" Ishaana said formally giving him the day's class schedule.

Ryan was very comfortable, but Ishaana was feeling very awkward with the sudden turn of events, she looked towards Payal who was grinning at her teasingly, Ishaana just glared at her and continued her work. Ryan has noted down the schedule and saw Ishaana solving some mathematics problem. He cursed the system for such a late recruitment process as he has missed many lectures due to it.

Soon the mathematics lecture started and the professor was asking a question based on the previous assignment sums. He asked Ishaana some formula and because of the nervous nature, she was blacked out and was not able to answer and got a scolding from the professor thinking that she has not done her work assigned to her; Ishaana was on the verge of crying.

Payal was used to it now but also worried about her nature she thought "stupid girl! She skipped the movie plan because of this assignment still got herself scolded"

On the other hand, Ryan was so shocked as she was solving such a complicated sum it's impossible that she is unaware of the basic formula. Soon Ryan answered the question when asked how he knows which formula to apply as it's the first day for him he simply said that he saw Ishaana solving the sum using that formula and got the idea. When professor checked her work he realized, she had not only completed her assignment but also practiced some extra sums seeing that professor was very happy and complimented her in front of the whole class. Ishaana was smiling till her ear as not even once in a blue moon any professor had complimented her till date. She loved if teachers appreciated her work. But she never let them feel her presence.
