The Last Riddle (Tokaku x Haru)

Prologue

   I quietly waited for her while looking at my phone, there was a message from Kaiba, it's the final message he will ever send me. Throughout my time spent in Class Black, he has sent me multiple riddles, and this is my 'Graduation' Riddle. The riddle reads, "Therefore, the World is Full of ____." I type my answer and hear someone running behind me. I hit send and close my phone before looking at the girl running up behind me, this girl is Haru, she was the target of Class Black. I used was one of the 12 assassins of Class Black, but instead of trying to kill Haru, I decided to protect her. I will never turn back on my promise, I will protect her, for the rest of our lives. Then I notice that she has a bag in her hands. I tilt my head and ask her, "are those-" and before I can finish she says, "Yeah, I have yours too."

After that I turn around and start walking knowing it's the Class Black diplomas and say, "I don't want it."

She gives me a sad look and asks, "really" Before she ran up next to me and wrapped her arm around mine.
She looks over at me and smiles which in turn makes me smile.

I look ahead of us and ask, "shall we head home?"

She looks at me with a dorky smile and asks, "can we stop somewhere and get something to eat first? I'm starving."

I smile and continue walking until we get to our favourite place to eat, Atyamas, named after the family that owns it. We walk in and order our food then sit down waiting for the waiter to come over with it. I look over at Haru and asked, "So how was the ceremony?"

She looked at me and answered, "It was good, well... as good as a solo graduation ceremony could go."

I smile and laugh, "oh yeah, I forgot that everyone else was expelled. So what are you gonna do with the other diplomas?"

She looked at me surprised, "I've never heard you laugh... it- it's nice-" she says as she drifts off.

I wave my hand in front of her face and say, "hello, Haru you in there?"
She eventually comes through and asks, "huh... wha- what happened?"
I smile and answer her, "You kinda blacked out there. You okay?"
She nods and answers me, "oh and I'm gonna give the others their diplomas."

Then the waiter came over and gave us our food. We ate and then left, heading back home.

                    ~ At home ~

   I unlock the door and open it so Haru could get in and put the bag down. I walk in after her and lock the door behind me. She walks into the bedroom and lays on her bed. I follow her into the room but lay down on my bed instead. I don't trust to not be around Haru, after everything we've been through, all I want to do is protect her. After Class Black ended I asked her to move into my apartment so it would be easier for me to protect her, and she happily agreed. I look over at Haru and notice she's sleeping. I smile and drift off to sleep myself. I wake up and I'm holding Haru in my arms. She is bleeding, and my knife is in her chest. I look her straight in the eyes and my heart stops as the girl I swore to protect dies in my arms from my own actions.
Then I hear someone yelling my name, "Tokaku... Tokaku... wake up!"
My eyes open to see Haru sitting above me, and I'm covered in sweat. I look Haru in the eyes and hug her, "I- I'm happy you're safe."

She looked at me worried and asked, "what's wrong?"

I hold onto her tightly and answer, "I thought- I thought I killed- you-" I closed my eyes as tears formed before continuing, "I- I don't know if I could live without you."

She holds onto me and reassures me, "It's fine... It's fine, I'm here and nothing is gonna happen to me."

We continue to hold onto each other in silence before I tell her, "You should go back to sleep, I'll be fine."
She shakes her head, 'no', and I tilt my head then ask, "why?"

She then climbs into my blanket and tells me, "I'll sleep with you, so you don't have another nightmare"
I nod and then put my head down but I make sure she falls asleep first, before I doze off.

Hopefully you guys and girls enjoyed the first chapter, I know it isn't that long but the next chapters will be. I know that this series isn't as popular as it was back when it came out, but I found this and instantly fell in love with the series, it's already in my top 3 favourite shows ever (and by shows I mean every show I've ever watched). I personally think I'm getting better at writing so if you want to see more I will happily do so.
