We Williams are a family who weren't born into royalty, but my parents found a way to establish a noble monarchy. When I, Archer Williams, was born, a witch, by the name of Reyna, was brought to foretell the impact that I would have on my family's kingdom, as per family tradition. With Reyna came unexpected news that I would be the one to destroy the monarchy and bring the city to shambles. She also prophesied that when I would turn eighteen, I would go on to kill my father, Abel.
Father is a tall, lean man with long flourishing gold-blond hair and glowing amber eyes. From the moment Reyna announced her vision, father became skeptical of her credibility. She had never been wrong before, but the fact that she said I, his own son, would kill him with no additional details gave him doubts. Ever since that day, father has been getting tremors throughout his whole body. They trigger whenever he catches sight of me. Perhaps this is what he deserves for having cheated on his wife, my mother, with another, but as disgusting as some of his actions may be, they could never justify murdering him.
Lucille, my mother, is tan and tall. She is a woman who was trained in the art of wielding the katana blade. She has navy blue hair that waves down to her knees and light, scarlet eyes. She was the lead strategist in my family's kingdom for the prime years, and her plans were always groundbreaking. Mother is an incredibly intelligent woman, and was the first person in Lynthia to travel to the kingdom of knowledge, Aldhika. She studied their history, their culture, their science, cultivating everything to new levels. She even formed a diplomatic agreement with them to provide the Lynthian people with the opportunity for education in exchange for work.
Despite her strong-working mind, mother couldn't help but worry about me and the rumors that could spread and endanger our family. To her, this prophecy was her punishment for killing her first son in order to trade his organs in exchange for food to help Lynthia flourish.
I recently turned sixteen, but the weird thing is, I don't look anything like the others. I'm rather skinny, about average height, I have light brown hair, and turquoise eyes. My ambitions are "different" and don't match up with theirs either. I want to fix the economic disparity between the upper and lower classes, I want to fix all of the broken, unfair and discriminatory laws of our kingdom.
Despite being in love, my family neglected my feelings and set me up with someone from one of the richer, neighboring kingdoms. They hope that it would "prevent the prophecy". Their words not mine.
My wedding is supposed to be next week. My parents, being the royals they are, increased taxation, and provided exclusive and limited groundbreaking programs in exchange to help the citizens pursue their careers. Of course they didn't do this solely out of kindness, they did this to prepare for the spending my unwanted wedding "needs".
Mother brought in an OWL (OWLs are magic users, specifically wizards, who teach it at libraries) from the underground city of gemstones, Mantiram, to spread the knowledge of the sources behind magic. Father brought in the lead captain of our military to run a bootcamp, he is instructing cadets, scientists, appreciators, and whoever else wants to learn about the advancement of tools and how to combat the unknown.
It's nice that they're doing all of this for my wedding, but they're not doing it for me. They're doing all of this to keep me occupied from finding their secrets but just a few days ago I found a book that covered all of the prophecies that Reyna had envisioned for our family. The more I delved in, the more I wanted to know. I looking through all of the great visions that Reyna had, all the calamities that my ancestors prevented thanks to her foresight. It's not all sunshine and rainbows though.
